The inner winch is bent hence cat s
Inner wing was damaged when the outer wing got ripped off, any bolt on only parts would be cat N, inner wing is welded so structural……….as said in many other vlogs, insurance assessors are working from pics and gone mad!

Both my cars were written off
Hi Joe, the car hard been cat S because the headlight panel it spot welded on those front ends so technically structural damage
If you know the salvage market you’ll know , this was easily written off!
I’m surprised you got involved with salvage stock.. mainly as your putting your name to something you have no idea who has repaired it or if it was done properly.
It was probably never seen by an assessor, 2020 was Covid times when you sent photos into insurance and they never looked in detail at the vehicle.
In 2020 only copart were selling so I started buying from there. You had to use their delivery service, with fees it was basically doubling the bid price, 1k to 2k delivered. I had some right horrors, none really worked out. A golf turned up and the driver says, how many pedals do you want to work, 3?,ha,ha it's got 1, no brakes, no clutch
insurance companies use weighted matrices that are stacked against an economical repair. A write off is merely a statement that the vehicle could not be repaired economically, but actually, often they can! The matrixes insist on labour rates, and brand new OEM Branded parts. as soon as any suspension components are damaged it moves from N to S. If they write off a car, it goes to support an entire repair industry, copart is usually the first stop. They are a bunch of shiesters on their own! but when you dig deeper you can see exactly why insurance premiums are so high. I speak from direct experience, and happy to chat.

I cannot see any bolts in that wing ! No wonder it ripped off ..there's no bolts on the inner wing where it would of bolted on ! BUT this could be because they took them out to get the wing off to manoeuvre it from there ?
As @michaelthompson6885 said Chris and Rob would of easily knocked this off, but they would of done a perfect job. The list of parts needed would be long and expensive, more than just a bumper and a wing. I have a cat N car that I am trying to sell, garages dont want to know, so a cat S will be very difficult to find a buyer.
In it to win it, I won't show this video to the misses, though. It looked well mangled to my untrained eye.

Love these cars. My brother has one, but it's the V8 twin turbo petrol 4.8ltr.
The system is not fit for prepose, I bought an Astra 1.6 VX line Nav at 7 months old CAT S, back in 2019 which I still have. The parts needed were all bolt on , wing, drive shaft, wishbone, wheel arch liner and paint Total Cost £750 to repair, No structural damage what so ever.
I had a 1 year old X3 and my postman parked next to it on my drive — when he opened his door the wind caught it and it swung into the rear wing of my X3 causing a little dent. I of course had it repaired and the PO paid up. it cost £3,600 at a BMW approved bodyshop to do the work. The dent was only like a regular door dent you get in supermarket carparks. Robbery I know but going on that the rpair to that Cayenne must have been est at £20K!! It would only get WO if the cost was more than the car was worth…
Lack of SH for 60k worth of most recent miles is not great news. And the damage looks pretty bad actually. Could have messed up the frame. Anyway, if I win it we will see what to do with it 🙂
just purchased a cayenne s 4.8 v8 on a 10 plate with 28k worth of extras…. basically spec as a GTS… what a car!
As a seasoned watcher of Salvage Rebuilds, this damage is minimal compared to a true structural smash up they fix good as new. Hopefully this has been repaired to their quality and should now be ok.
Well technically now it is a Cayenne S… just it's S for category S
When this happened parts were in pretty short supply so car hire costs tended to be astronomical and push cars into uneconomic to repair.
Amazing how assessors write car off from pictures. ..
Repair cost are sky high and the main reason is parts are hard to source meaning the owner of the car has a hire car for weeks and months , body shop charge storage charges …
Cars make blood in salvage auctions , so most cost effective for insurance companies…

It's a shame that the repairer didn't match up the panels. There's probably a bit of underlying damage to the chassis that could have been pulled out with a jig (I've seen others do it) with just a bit more work. I've still bought some tickets though!
I've done my best to buy tickets for this comp but payment will not go through and I get the message 'Invalid merchant details', anyone else having the same problem?
