  1. I've had a couple of cayennes and also a v10 touareg(basically the same car). They have nice quality mostly. But i've found quality is lacking in some areas. they usually get water inside because of blocked water outlets. And that leads to a lot of electrical problems. Air suspension is a pain sometimes when it starts to act up. Auto valve body can fail, front differential can fail.. interior plastic is not very high quality, V8s can have cylinder scoring and lots lots more that happens with these cars. I think you got a bit lucky with this one. They are great cars when they run 🙂

  2. There is a saying my dad said who was in the motor-trade 50 odd years.
People who complain shout the loudest.
Meaning the people who are happy with there cars, you don’t hear about.
So most of the comments you see on forums are negative.

  3. Joel, I'd keep the Cayenne. As you say, it has proven to be reliable and not overtly expensive over the last 12,000 miles. I know that it isn't good for your channel views, but you need a car that you can basically rely on 100% — you have it there. Mess about (pardon the pun) with the Maserati or whatever follows that. Good viewing and good for shouting down some of the naysayers.

  4. Less rot underneath than my 2012 Subaru XV rot box! A Cayenne is my "itch" and really looking forward to the off road test on here.

  5. £1.92 for one stainless M8 bolt! Sheesh.

  6. Keep the cayenne, range rovers are awful, one will cost you a fortune and be in the garage permanently!

  7. I had a 955 3.2 for 7 years. Bought it with 50k and sold at 140k towed a caravan around Europe and three times skiing in the alps. Loved it and never let me down. Yes I probably over serviced it but never went wrong. Brakes every year at £500 per axle and expensive tires but it’s going to cost that.

  8. Keep the Cayenne for this winter since you've sprung for the winter wheels and the major service, switch in the spring maybe?

  9. 4 years into ownership of my l322 4.4 TDV8, I never thought I'd enjoy it as much as I do, no plans to change it 😉

  10. Try a 4.5 V8 Cayenne, best of both worlds

  11. completely agree mate. i have a 1004 CCT (Australian) and have had no issues other than a selector lever switch which was very easy and inexpensive to replace. other than that — touch wood i have had no other issues. I absolutely love my Cayenne TT and it drives fantastic. Probably down to luck more than anything lol

  12. Yes, nice vid! And good advice to clean the headlights. It will make the Cayenne look even better!

  13. You just have to pay, as a result of keeping such an ugly vehicle alive , but yes , a lot of car for the money, I get it

  14. Can’t wait to see the Range V8 TD!

  15. Given what you’ve spent on maintenance so far, I’d stick with the Cayenne for now and continue to enjoy the driving experience! Good luck if you do go for a Range Rover, fingers crossed you get one that doesn’t turn out to be problematic!

  16. I know you’ve had the Copart Volvo XC90 but you should consider the XC70, fantastic long distance cruiser and well capable off road in winter.

  17. I think alot of people get lured in by a cheap Porsche and that was the case with me, i had a v8 Cayenne for a while and being honest it was a complete money pit although saying that it generally drove well and went like stink for the size and weight of it, by the time i bought it i think it had been neglected by previous owners so i got the shitty expensive end of the stick, from my experience running them on a budget generally isn't really an option so buyers need to prepare for some big bills when buying a bargain basement one, as you say sure the v6 is abit more liveable costwise.

  18. Had my 06 V8 for a year, 180000k's now, done the centre bearing and rear door struts but that's about it beside servicing, best car I've ever bought and was less than $10000 Aus, don't buy one with a sunroof they seem to have the problems due to water ingress

  19. Offroad they are unbelievable, i have never been stuck and more comfortable than my mates v8 lexus

  20. Having driven both, The rangerover feels like a box on wheels more like a LandCruiser/lexus(which is a much better car), porsche is so much better to drive on and off road, i can drink my coffee while offroading in the porsche

  21. Thank you. I am searching for this model, with LPG conversion ( Bi-fuel )

  22. I'd keep the Porsche Cayenne. You've just put two grand into it. I've currently got two VW Touareg V10's, and I wouldn't get rid of them at all. One's got a rear diff lock. Thanks for a great video.

  23. If it was me and you know it’s a good car, I would keep it.

  24. I have a 2012 cayenne S 4.8, almost 3 years of ownership, about 14k kms, now 103k, issues have been 1. Coolant hoses leaking by being brittle, 2 Abs sensor replaced, and 3. air suspension issues, front struts replaced, pump replaced front suspension arm bushings replaced. It probably needs the rear struts replacing too. What I found is the car needs to be driven pretty regularly, at least 4 times a week. It's been OK but I am not overwhelmed by it, mainly I expect because of the suspension issues. Not sure what to replace it with GLE 350d coupe or Subaru Outback 3.6r (can you get that in the UK).

  25. GET THE L322 4.4 Tdv8, especially the last of the l322s

  26. Hi Joel! Did I at one time hear you talk about a flying channel? I'd love to see some aviation related content from you. As always, love the videos my friend.

  27. I have a 2016 Cayenne base 958 and have not had any issues at all for 4 years now. I love my ride, my son loves it and says its like being in a space ship. It corners amazing and handles like a sports car. I still get the expected fear of massive repair bills but I think I'll be keeping this vehicle for at least 10 years or hand it down to my son once he gets his license.
