Sporty elegance in characteristic BMW style.
The exterior design of the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé features an expressive front end, a dynamically elongated silhouette and a powerfully designed rear. The proportions clearly convey the sporty elegance characteristic of a BMW Gran Coupé.

The length of the 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé has increased by 1.8 cm to 4.50 m, while the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2.66 m. The vehicle width is constant at 1.80 m, while the height has been increased by 2.5 cm to 1.43 m. These exterior dimensions ensure that the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé offers generous space for up to five occupants and their luggage.

The standard M Sport exterior design includes a front apron with large air intakes below the wide BMW kidney grille. The headlights are drawn far back into the front wings. Two vertical, subtly arrow-shaped LED units serve as side marker lights, daytime running lights and turn signals. For a striking nighttime design, an illuminated radiator grille with contour lighting will be available as an option from March 2025.

The profile is defined by the long bonnet, short overhangs, long wheelbase and a gently flowing roof line. A pronounced indentation in the transition to the rear emphasises the athletic shoulder section. Behind the elegant graphic of the elongated side windows, a discreetly engraved number 2 emphasises the characteristic Hofmeister crease.

The rear gets its powerful and modern appearance from a broad surface structure interrupted by just a few lines and flat rear lights. The vertically aligned LED elements in the rear lights and turn signals echo the design of the light sources inside the headlights. The tailpipes of the 228 xDrive Gran Coupé are invisibly integrated into the rear apron, while the M235 xDrive Gran Coupé proudly sports the traditional four M tailpipes.

The interior of the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé is completely leather-free, with perforated Veganza in one of four standard colours. The Veganza/Alcantara finish is available with the M Sport package and is combined with contrasting stitching for the dashboard.

Newly designed heated sports seats are standard on the 2 Series Gran Coupé and, for the first time, active massaging front seats with lumbar support are available as an option. The latest version of the standard sports steering wheel features a pearlescent high-gloss chrome finish and illuminated multifunction buttons.

Dynamically backlit interior trim in milled aluminium contributes to the refined and athletic premium ambience of the 2 Series Gran Coupé. The curved BMW Display, featuring the latest version of BMW iDrive with QuickSelect based on the BMW Operating System 9, and the new gear selector underline the modern and avant-garde character of the interior.

The 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine under the hood of the 228 xDrive Gran Coupé has been significantly revised. The new engine, codenamed B48A20O2, features a Miller combustion cycle, dual injection (direct and port) and revised combustion chamber geometry. This engine produces 241 hp and torque has increased to 295 lb-ft. The engine is mated exclusively to a new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). Together, they enable the 228 xDrive Gran Coupé to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.8 seconds.
