It was a pleasure exploring this facility with Jim and his crew! After this shoot G and I sat around with all of the employees talking about Indiana and RV travel. Everyone was extremely friendly and G and I had an awesome trip to Sportsmobile, Indiana! Jim was one of those old school RV/Camper Van industry guys who has seen the industry change drastically over the years. I know for a fact that he has forgotten more about building rigs than I have learned about them in the last two years. If we had more guys like Jim building rigs people wouldn’t be waiting for months after buying a new rig to get the «factory fix». I would like to thank Sporstombile for allowing G and I to film this video!

Gotta love those 4×4 vans.
I love these
Wow what a awesome company!
Very cool vans.
Ive wanted one of these for the longest time. Thanks for this Chris and G
Wow…perfect
I love sportsmobiles. Their main plant is in fresno, california. They also have a plant in texas. They also sell ATW campers. Good company and they stand with their products
Excellent production. Kudos.
Great video, but am I the only one that would like to hear the approximate cost for these rv builds? I guess if you have to ask the price then you probably can't afford it? Thanks for the informative video.
That was a cool video! nice shop also. Thanks for posting Have a good1 C YA
Way out of most peoples price range.
He is soooo cute <3 Like a relic from the past however when America was great and people founded a business to excel in what they love to do and make a living out of it. And create jobs. Not anymore, sigh.
that 4×4 van is rad
really enjoyed this Chris. thanks.
Hello Chris, this is a great video with a great man showing how to do things properly
Thank you for making the video, I have been watching your work for over 2 years and so envy you an G and your lovely dog, Your work should be on the Discovery Channel and now it could be How its made by Chris and G. All the best from Ireland.
Awesome video! I got 1990 dodge xplorer kinda like zep but it has the high roof.
A fascinating (and relevant to me) video. I never knew such a place existed. Ironically, I have Mercedes Sprinter sitting in Worthington, Ohio that I was considering converting in to some sort of motor home. I am seriously considering checking these guys out and seeing what they can do. My next trip is in just a few days, so I shall be contacting them soon. Chris and G, thanks for this! Now to convince my partner 😉
We always envied the Sportmobile back in our Baja days, but it was way over our budget, so we had a Dodge 3500 with 4WD and a popup camper for half the price. Now we can afford it, but at 68 we're slowing down. Nice video, it explains why Sportmobile is so expensive, everything is customa made.
i had a vw sportsmobile van back in the 70's, it was AWESOME, nice to see they are still offering such a great product, testament to the quality they build into every unit, thanks for sharing your tour with them
Another great video!
Looks like this company has found a niche and is making some versatile RVs.
Pretty neat!
Clean shop! Love it! That 4X4 is going to be badass!
I would like diesel brothers to build me a large truck (super diesel). then have them build the interior.
The workers are not in a hurry unlike those in big name brand RV. That's how you get quality.
Last fall we happen to be in a campground with a gathering of Sportsmobile conversions. Did he say how many they turned out a year?
I've heard the Mercedes sprinter diesel van are hard to find places to service them if your not in the city…wish ford still made the vans they discontinued….
Most ppl dream of the houses they'd design and build if they won the lottery. I dream of the sportsmobile I'd own. Just wish sportsmobile would do more in-depth converted van tours on their channel. Great vid thanks
Very silly and unethical to put the "porta potty" right next to the fridge and microwave!
Love It ❤️
: )
Wow that's really cool to bad they cost so much
Thanks for the tour.
Hope this guy lives a long time because I need him and his crew to build a Sprinter 4×4 conversion for me when I retire. I'm patiently saving up until I can afford one.
annoying. just show the vans being built
how its made camper van
getting me one of these E350 4×4 diesels one of these days….can't wait to hit the woods. PARTY TIME!!
Do you know what they were using for insulation on the build in the video, looked like denim….I would be great to know how the pro's do it….
Jim is a really good Man I miss him and happy to see him again he looks good
This is the Sportsmobile in Huntington Indiana Excellent quality van conversion
Can a penthouse top go on a high roof as well? Also, is it possible to convert a hybrid van?
Sprinter Vans suck. I don’t trust the drive lines. I’ve read there expensive to service as well. 4×4 Sprinter ? The vote is still out. American 4×4 systems are indestructible. I think American 4×4 vans will be highly sought after in the future as the manufacturers are going the Euro thing, which I feel won’t hold up.
