Remove Cooling Fan & Viscous Clutch | Land Rover Discovery

With the correct tools, replacing the Viscous Clutch cooling fan on the Rover V8 engine is a breeze.

I believe that Land Rover used the viscous clutch style cooling fan for the entire life of the engine, from the Defenders, to the Range Rovers, all the way to the Discovery 2’s.

These types of fans aren’t at all uncommon; BMW was well known for using these, even in their M series sports cars.
