Knowing bmw you most likely need to have the ccc system coded to the car. If you have a friend with the same one you could always try swapping it into their car and see if it works.

Pretty sure that box in the back isn't the Bluetooth system. It's the brain for the phone system. The actual Bluetooth for the phone system is a small black module that is mounted on that removable panel under the dash on the driver's side. I didn't have this option installed on my e90 330i, but was able to source the parts from a 328i at pick n pull for cheap. There is an easy install guide online. It's all installed, I just need to get it coded now.
