I had this car for 7 years and never had an issue with the G50 transmission. I replaced the transaxle fluid with Mobil 1 Delvac, and even after almost 200,000 miles, the original G50 gearbox was still strong. The 915 gearbox that came in the 911 prior to 1987 was a little less precise and less robust, but was an overall quieter gearbox. The G50 is a pretty noisy transmission, but its strength and precise mechanical feel more than make up for it.

How's the gearbox? I hear anything before the g50 were problems.
