I just like the sedan, have you considerd that and for a daily that would be a great choise it's still an smaller car good if you live in a city and it has good size boot.. I think, get it with the quattro 4 wheel drive so you can have some fun in the snow or in track.
Should go for RS3. A real engine with 5 cylinders and loads of character. Leaves the 2.0 Turbo from S3 and A45 AMG in the dust. Plus, it doesnt sound like your moms vacuum cleaner.
This hatchback looks great. Too bad we can't get that here in Canada. Unfortunately we don't get it because the Yanks don't buy hatchbacks. I have an 16 S3 sedan and love it. Anyway….
My loaded 16 S3 was 52,000 CDN which works out to 30,729 GBP. O stop of that I pay 13% tax and you would have your tax. What do you guys pay for one of these loaded?

A S3 or a A1 definitely i would go for the S3, go & look at a S3 in Ara blue with black optic pack & 19inch V 5 spoke matt titanium alloys with red calipers, then tell me if you change your mind.
I would have sold all your cars and just got an S3 … does everything and looks amazing with the quad exhaust and sunroof … that's going to be my plan 🙂

Weird that he loves the steering wheel. The wheel on the S3 is appalling.
