  1. Wow…Steve….the new wire wheels are stunning!!!!

  2. You're right. Maybe it's the BGT style lends itself better, or I can't tell what it is actually, the larger wheel/tire combination does look better.

  3. Have you ever used the dedicated Rudge-Whitworth adapters on your balancing machine ?

  4. Thanks for taking good care of Jim's MGC. He founded the Flatwater Car Club, and was a great person to know and a dedicated MG enthusiast.

  5. We call those type of wheel centres "spinners" in the U.K.

  6. That’s a beautiful car in one of my favourite colours for it. The dash is completely different to the UK cars.

  7. Is there any piece of equipment that Steve doesn't own?

  8. The wheels made a huge difference. Are the wheel nuts reverse thread on the Passenger side? I would think so but not sure.

  9. Junk those dumb splined hubs and get wheels that are 4 stud. I see some Superlites in the back ground. The correct way to go
Those steel flywheels are by far worse. 1920s tech on a 70s car. 165×15?? so VW Beetle tyres!! Balance them,, first couple of corners and they will need doing again!

  10. Beautiful car Steve !! The wheels make all the difference !!

  11. What setup are you using to balance the wires? Looks like an old hub? Was doing the exact same wheels and tires for my AH 100 today.

  12. Love those 'wire wheels',..not that it mattersto your car, but, I'd prefer to have the two eared knock off nuts in lieu of the octagon lugs. ( MY opinion only of course 🙂

  13. Correct wirewheels look great! The larger diameter wheels really set the MGC off from the MGB.

  14. Balancing with the labels attached — good move!

  15. Hi Steve. A very underrated car for far too long .Now looking how it should . Thank Steve.

  16. Hello from Canada! Can you send info on the GPS speedo in that beautiful CGT?!

  17. Already a rare car in the UK, yours looks amazing Steve

  18. That hunter balancer would be proudly owned by any tire shop!

  19. I really like your updates and car projects. You have quite the collection!!

  20. What is the torque spec for the wheel nut? 5 hits of the hammer?

  21. Also watch "The Widest V8 MGB GT In The World" right here on YT.

  22. Some years ago I went to MWS to balance and renew the wires on my Spitfire Mk3. They were professional, enthusiastic and dedicated. I had an enjoyable couple of hours there, while they worked on my car. Great firm.

  23. Nice car Steve i have a white 1968 C roadster the second one Ive owned first one was also '68 mineral blue

  24. Maybe it has one switch for the left headlight and one for the right headlight.

  25. I would love to have this car. Perfect model and color. One lucky guy.

  26. I owned an MGC GT. Fun little money pit.

  27. The car looks great and I love it in Primrose Yellow. After owning three MGBs (one roadster, two GTs) I moved up to an MGC GT (in Mineral Blue) but found it a serious disappointment as it wasn't all that much quicker than a B and didn't handle at all well. After returning to an MGB GT (my third) for a year or two, I bought a BGT V8 which, with the way lighter engine, was a great car in terms of performance and handling.

  28. My Buddy had a maroon one of these in high school. I had stock MGB…Lots o fun w/ both. We both wish we still had them lol.

  29. My Step-Father had a yellow MGC-GT in Peoria, IL around 1980-ish and sold it off. Could this be the same one? His initials were RWR.

  30. The wire wheels look to be 72 spoke nice car was made for wire wheels nice video thanks

  31. What to feel the performance is like vs. an MGB-GT? I wanted to add an MG to my British car stable and I was thinking the 'C' over the 'B' and would like your thoughts. Thanks.

  32. So the correct torque spec for the wheel nuts is about 10 hammers 🙂 Probably is about feel …

  33. My brother’s mgc (soft top) been sitting in s.e. Iowa dry garage for maybe 30+ years. Now sitting under typical garage detritus (tarps, boxes, garden hose, lawn chairs, etc). I remember the C hood bulges poorly riveted into a donor B hood. He is a hoarder with zero interest getting rid of any of his cars.

  34. I'm going to be the unpopular option and say I like the other wheels better. Granted the new ones will give a nicer ride and easier turning. I'd spray them gloss black.

  35. The MGC was one of those obvious ideas that didn't really work out. The principal consequences of fitting that big lump were a clumsy bulge in the hood, increased fuel consumption and grievous understeer,

  36. Get the two carbs sync'ed and it'll run like a charm.

  37. Sorry but all these comments are made for very beginners….
