In this episode I start by visiting the Copart lot in Indianapolis. Then it’s back to work on the Fusion. I fixed the power steering and cooling systems, and then fixed the wiring for the SRS system and reinstalled the seatbelts and SRS module. Please subscribe and turn on notifications to follow future episodes as I rebuild my Ford Fusion.

  1. When you buy a car from copart it's better to make sure that the car is pure sale and if the car looks even a little suspicious do not bid!

  2. Good Video…..I live in Indy too….only 15 minutes away from Copart……bummer that individuals must use "broker" to bid on any car…..so, I haven't done it yet. Seems to me….after buying and adding all the fees and the broker fee…..maybe can buy an un-wrecked car for about the same price as repairing ……just my thoughts….especially if have to send out for Frame damage …then, really expensive to repair these wrecked cars…..

  3. Also here in Carmel, Done quite a few IaaI cars. Love to chat. PM me DM me.. whatever. Who is the broker you are possibly using?

  4. Make sure you get the serial numbers of those airbags as you may need them for inspection.

  5. I like the format you are doing on this process. I'm a west side hoosier as well. I'm looking to buy a flood car to use for a major modification build. Please share your experience of using a broker. I'd bet they will remove some fees if you share their contact information.

  6. Another great video, the Fusion is coming together nicely. Interesting on the video taking at Copart. Seems as though the policy on allowing it depends on one yard to another. One rebuilder in another state says that yard is very open to videoing, while another in a third state claims you risk ejection and possible permanent expulsion if you're caught, even for just taking pictures. I can't understand why any would be against it, I'd consider it free advertising. BTW, your editing of this video is the best yet.

  7. Good video! interesting to see things coming together..

  8. Like your Ford pickup. Bought a 1995 short bed new and when I retired from USSteel in 2003 traded it on a new GMC. The salesman bought it from me on the spot. Every time I see that body style I wish I would have kept mine. Big mistake getting rid of it.

  9. Excellent! it might just be as simple as an unpluged sensor under the seat! Have you checked Todd's channel Unwrecked? he does similar work in PA (apparently Copart does let him film). Cheers!

  10. Great video… tons of work to those high impact rebuilds. Keep em’ coming.

  11. You should go to any Ford Service shop and ask them to reprogram the RCM module using their IDS tool, and perform all of the required tests for the car to make sure its safe.

  12. Thanks for pointing out where those bolts are that hold the airbag in. I'm going to have to glue my dash back down too, and found I need to take the airbag out to make it easier.

  13. I am going to try my hand at a rebuild soon. Used to do them when I was younger before all these electronics. But I am looking for a new work van so that is what I am probably going to get for my project. Maybe you can get a Subaru since you said you had one so you will be familiar with it.

  14. A possible quick easy fix for the seat sensor, slide the passenger seat all the way forward and all the way back, had to do this on an old ford escort I had to reset the sensors can’t remember if it was with ignition on or off but you could try both good luck

  15. What code scanner did you use? Where from and how much was it?

  16. Airbag light on just unplug seat then plug seat in again delete code ,don't move seat or light comes back on

  17. I has a ford truck like yours. best one i ever owned

  18. Hey will you be telling us how much the car costed you including all the parts and how much you ended up making profit? I don't expect a video about this right now but later down the line maybe when you sell it.

EDIT: This is off topic but don't you think it would be a better idea to remove the music when you're talking and instead just play the music when you're working on the car. This could just be me but I would like to just fully focus on everything you're saying. I still love your videos either way. Keep up the great content!

  19. DTC Code: B2290 is Occupant Classification System (OCS) fault

You can see video how to remove this part:

You can read in the comments of how Kyle Friday had the same issue and how he solved it.

  20. good vids . great to watch.. Darren..London UK
