  1. I just want to say I love these videos. Very informative keep them coming.

  2. I'm rebuilding a 96 CR250. Your video or someone elses mentioned that the washers and split rings on the tranny are directional. I checked mine and they were all on backwards according to the service manual. I'm not convinced that a mechanic had spit the cases at some point and did that by accident. The bike is pretty original. I think they were like that from the factory.

  3. Great video! I have been maintaining my own dirt bikes for over 30 years and I always learn some new tidbit that I either never new or can do better.

  4. I'm subscribing to you dude, your fucking nuts, love it.

  5. is a video to scare home. mechanic to fix our own engines. well live and learn from mistakes. we all make mistakes even professionals

  6. I had to split the cases THREE TIMES before I finally found a misplaced washer in the tranny, was pissed but once the engine fired up and worked it was worth it

  7. Hey Shane, what do you think videoing the way a transmission comes apart and using it as a reference if the book isn't helpful?

  8. hi shane thanks for thevedio its big help for me…

  9. My bike transmission strucking while shifting what can problem please tell me.

  10. Does anyone know where to get the "parts fische" as shown around 1:39 with the large exploded view? Because I would really love to find all of those for my 2009 EX250J9FA. haven't really had much luck lately though…

  11. ight i have a issue that i need help with. im am rebuilding my tranny in my 1981 harley XLH1000, i have replaced the race bearing, and now i am ready to install the roller bearing, and washer with retainer clip in so that thee roller bearings do not fall out the other side. one issue i am having is with the blind retainer clip. their is no eyelets on it to use a normal set of snap ring pliers, both side have flat ends. I need to compress it down to get it to fit in to the groove inside the race bearing .. can you help . blessings

  12. here is a tip for u draw it in the book correct or take a better picture and add it to the book with a foot note and add it to back page might help somebody down the line

  13. The biggest problem is the odd case of getting reliable info on correct assembly. If you know it has never been touched since factory production, fine- record how it came apart. But how to handle factory install mistakes vs factory revisions, vs manual misprints or revisions on later years. Now try to get the correct info from the factory or (for the home mechanic) an authorized shop. Three mechanics and three different answers.
What do you suggest in those cases? I find that’s when all your knowledge and experience comes into play. As you state, understanding the basics but also when special circumstances apply.
There are times getting correct installation info seems impossible or contradictory.

  14. Brilliant video. When re-assembling the gears on the shaft, is there supposed to be ANY movement on the Gear wheel ?..Iv'e heard there should be slight movement to allow Oil into the inner gear shim/bearing? Cheers.
