  1. Why did you have to change the crank shaft sensor?

  2. Its' not the Vanso thing it the DISA Valve.

  3. Mine is E46 318i 2002…right hand drive UK…..same location?…

  4. That's the DISA and likely not related to VANOS.

  5. Is this what a DIY by Marcel Marceau looks like?

You got the location wrong my friend. The Crankshaft postiion sensor is located under the starter motor!

  6. Thank you for the video. My 1998 BMW E39 is giving me a Peak Research code of FA and 53, which should be a EVAP TAV  and Crank Sensor, although I can clear it and it won't come back for several hundred miles, and the car starts right up when it's warm, but takes a few turns of key to get it to start when it's cold.

  7. what fixed the problem, i got a 01 e46 and its not starting, i just bought a crank sensor over ebay, and camsensor

  8. I believe this is the CAMSHAFT Position Sensor not the CRANKSHAFT Position sensor.

  9. about how much time would u say it takes?

  10. This guy does a great job with his camera.

  11. Protip! Take front wheel of and change the sensor from underneath. It takes about 20 min and it is easy job.

  12. Great video. Does anyone know where the crankshaft sensor is on a 2006 BMW 750i?

  13. You have no idea How long i have looked for a video that shows the position of the Crank sensor… A simple thank you may not seem enough but i am grateful. Not even Bme/Benz mechanics found it. Gosh! Will Work on my car tomorrow

  14. Ill tell you this for free, if you changed that sensor to alleviate problems with rough running, you should also look at that rip in the intake pipe after the maf sensor

  15. i agree with jreeve1979, nice little tear right under where the little pipe join mass air flow pipe, I've just had to repair on mine.

  16. If your having trouble like I did for a few hours, make sure to remove the vacuum reservoir in order to see the sensor… it's just one nut to remove, and the Allen bolt was a 5mm, pain in the ass to take off but once mine was off I noticed a crack with oil coming out on the top of my sensor, hopefully a new one will start my car!
