In this video I am going to be carrying out a reset of the OBC Service interval indicator on my BMW 1 Series, This process is near identical for E9x models also.
I will reset both the oil change indicator and also the inspection indicator. If you haven’t already seen the video in which I carried out a complete Service on the car then please take a look at the link below

I was unsuccesful.
I did do it when I first got the car.
It goes into the hidden menu when I press the reset button.
I was looking into exactly this issue for at least an hour. Nice explanation! Short and precise!

If I change my own pads on 16 plate 1 servies with the pro nav screen, can I update the service part the same way?? Great vids by the way

Hi Kev I am new to BMW, just had my car serviced and reset using the buttons in the bottom line you have the overall Mileage then there is a warning triangle then the trip (what is the warning triangle there for, is there still something wrong) thanks for this video very helpful

mine doesn't give me the option to reset it. Im guessing the car realises i haven't changed the oil yet? thanks
Kev i also have an issue that my dash keeps resetting. The car starts and drives absolutely fine. Its used to happen very occasionally before but now it’s happening all the time whilst driving and parked up stationary
Does this work for a yellow service warning light
Hi. It works pretty fine. I just have a doubt, I changed the oil in May 2022, the oil service was set to be changed in May 2023, I did the reset procedure and it changed to may 2024,is is a problem? Or the car will automatically revert to only one (1) year interval instead of two (2) years??????? How to reset it to one (1) year?!!?
Any1 know how to fix the oil service I bought a used 2011 335i xdrive and the oil service says it's not due for another year any1 know how to fix it?

Trying to find this answer from long now, hoping you can answer this.
The check engine lights stay on without engine running but when you start the engine it goes away. Why is that?
I'm sure that was not the case during a brand new car and it used to go away like all other lights after checks, I can see same issue with your car in this video.
Do you know why is that and the solution to the same?

2011 128i. Won’t reset by this method or a scan tool. Reset every other light except the oil!

Kev, my bmw 1 series (59 REG) is booked for a service next week, but the service light on dash has gone from yellow to red. I am worried that this will lead to engine shut down. Do I need to get it reset even though not had service yet? My mechanic is on holiday n I need to use car for next 4 days.

Hi, i have been doing this reset always, but no my car dont let me reset it, i do everything like you, but the service light stays on and shows me 0 kms. Any ideias!?
