When does a concept car clay modelling start & how much time does it take for full scale concept car modelling? Do you guys carve out shape from clay for finalized 2D drawing sketch based on your own understanding of sketch or you use some technique to covert 2D sketch into 3D clay model? What is the future of clay sculptor when now clay are being produced using CNC machining with more accuracy & in significantly less time? I just wanted to understand how does it go in automotive industry now? My understanding , concept 2D sketch- conversion of 2d drawing into 3D styling surface using hi-end surfacing software such as alias or catia icem — and then CNC codes are generated based on computer generated 3D digital surface model — carve out the clay model using CNC machine from the buck wrapped with full of clay. please answer my queries as I am desperately trying to understand the early stage of automobile concept designing.
