My Audi S3 1.8T APY engine recently rebuilt, oil pressure fault.
this engine was rebuilt with Forged rods and most parts replaced, then bedded in, never taken above 3000rpm, it has done 1300 miles.
Get an oil pressure warning once the car has warmed up if you drive it between ~ 1100rpm and 1900rpm , anything higher the fault goes away, on idle it never comes either.
since the fault started I have replaced the pick up pipe, oil pump and oil pressure switch.

Adrian, It was my Bottom end shells I put in during the rebuild, they were polluting the oil, bad result in the end, being rebuilt now 🙁
What was wrong with it, i have the same problem after rebuild
It is the Oil Pump Filter that are full with crap
or just the sensor that are destroit
i have just fitted a rebuilt engine to my s3 and a big t3 hybred garret turbo i have this exact same problem when hot oil light beeps and flashes if rpm drops below 2000 goes away if i keep the revs up my email is dwanfield@aol.com please please help me

well today need some advise do to the fact that im getting crazy….lol
i bought an audi a4 2000 engine 1.8 t code APU … i did rebuilt the engine my self….i turned on the engine and a crazy noise was not right , and no oil was coming up to the engine, i took off the top cover of the engine and no oil was coming up, while runing took off the oil filter and no oil come out at all…. then to make the long story short….
change the oil pump and change the oil to a 5w 30 ,and still the same …really need some advise or help on what to do or check……nice day… sincerely from mx city
Could be the oil pressure sensor off the side of oil filter housing wire is very thin and breaks easily and can get broken when oil filter is changed bad design…just had this problem…problem solved swapped out with new sensor.. 15$
Exactly the same problem, under 2000 RPM the oil light comes on … above 2000 and the fault clears …
