2020 BMW 7 SERIES Updated Bavarian luxury Sedan !!The model in the Russian car market will be available at the start.
After a few spy photo shoots, a few leaks and one teaser, the facelifted BMW 7 Series will officially debut with basic styling tweaks and a few important technical updates. First of all, the luxury limousine’s fascia got an even bigger kidney grille for a “more powerful visual presence.»»As a standard bar of an active lattice model USA finished in satin aluminum, if you’re not purchasing a series-capping M760Li xDrive model, which features a grey finish cerium.
The grille is 40% larger and flanked by a set of redesigned headlights that use adaptive led technology as standard, while lasers will be available as an option. Above the fascia, the hood has also received a slightly redesigned look, and the Wings are now a bit more muscular.
The highlight of the design changes on the rear panel is a thin light strip that extends across the width of the rear door connecting the taillights. Speaking of which, the new clusters are 1.4 inches thinner than the previous model and have a new design.
Hop inside the cab and you’ll find BMW’s latest generation digital cluster instrument also featured in the 8 series and X5. The Bavarian manufacturer also promises new leather and trim options, as well as improved acoustic comfort. Standard equipment for the model now includes wireless charging located directly in front of the Cup holders for easier access.
While the V12-powered top-of-the-range M760 remains the star of the show with its 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts) and 627 pound feet (850 Newton meters) of torque, BMW is proud to present a comprehensively redesigned version of the 4.4-liter V8. It now produces 523 HP (390 kW), 80 HP (60 kW) more than before, and up to 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque, 74 lb-ft (100 Nm) more than on the previous model. The 750i xDrive’s new V8 ensures the sedan reaches 62 mph (100 kph) from a stop in just 3.9 seconds.
At launch, the new 7 will also be offered in a hybrid version that combines a specially adapted 280 HP (209 kW) six-cylinder in-line engine with a 113 HP (84 kW) electric motor. The system stores electrical energy in a new lithium-ion battery, but BMW is not yet ready to reveal the full electrical range. The combined peak power of the system is 389 HP (290 kW), enough to sprint 0-62 mph (0-100 km / h) in 4.9 seconds.
The German automaker also revised the eight-speed automatic, which is the standard transmission on all models of the 2020 model year. It should now deliver faster and smoother gear changes, and comes standard with a start control function. The PHEV transmission uses a hybrid-specific variant of the Sport Steptronic with an improved separation clutch that acts as a link to the engine.
When it arrives in showrooms this April, the 2020 7 series will be available in five different specs, four all-wheel drive models and one RWD. Prices will be announced closer to the sale date.
