This is not a work around. It is purposefully built in and designed functionality… and does NOT "get around" the permissions issues. I think people want to know how to write files to any folder on their SD Card, and not just the built in permissioned app folders… I rooted my phone which allowed me to edit the permissions to get around this. I have an app that needs to be able to access the camera folder on my SD card (where my pics are saved) and sync it with my NAS, which is something you can't do with this method…

  4. Please help me, Mobile Decay! I, a day or two ago, could do everything normal w/ my SD card but now all of a sudden I can't delete even a SINGLE thing from it. I don't know why this happened. Could you help me please? P.S. I got Android 5.1.1 on Sony Xperia M2.

  6. EDIT: Nevermind, my lollipop phone can copy the files to the com.estrongs… folder but if I try and move it to another folder on SD it asks for write permissions (can't grant as SD card is missing in "Documents" app).
Only way it would prob work is if I moved all my videos, music etc into that directory instead of root directories.

EDIT2: I've moved all my stuff into the ES File Explorer directory, and replaced the "Window" in the app to link to that new directory. I imagine the files new location won't make much difference to most of my files, but I'll be able to copy files straight from my PC, instead of first to internal and then using the phones default file explorer for SD transfer.
Music might have to stay in sdcard root though, Play Music seems to only be showing tracks I've bought via play store.

  7. THANK YOU I WAS GONNA KILL MYSELF BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM THIS IS THE BEST SOLUTION!!!!

  27. Too much talking is not good in an instructional video. Just show people how to do it with no commentary.

  29. TM D TM D:

The only easiest way at least for now is to root the phone or tablet and once the phone or tablet is rooted, then use root explorer to create folders or documents to the external SD card. The other way is to create the folder or document in the internal memory card with one of those 3rd part file managers without the os being rooted and then once finished with using with one of those 3rd party file managers, then use the internal file manager that comes with most of the Kitkat OS to move the created folder or document to the external SD card. That is the only way of doing it until some amazing programmer hacker can figure out how to fix the problem that exist in the Kitkat OS.
