The torque setting for the oil cooler bolts on a Vauxhall Astra varies depending on the model and engine type. For example, on the Astra H with the Z18XER engine, the oil cooler replacement often involves securing bolts at approximately 20 Nm, but it’s essential to confirm the specific torque settings for your engine in a workshop manual or service guide

Tools and Materials Needed

Socket set (with E-torx sockets)
Torque wrench
Screwdrivers
Gasket scraper
Replacement oil cooler and seals
New coolant and oil

  16. What is the gaskets part number for chevy cruze diesel 2.0L 2014 j305? Thanks

  17. My Vectra was in the garage to have rocker cover gasket changed yesterday. He said the oil cooler is weeping. Said it'd cost £1,200 to fit a replacement. Roughly what should a garage be charging to replace the seals please? I can source a housing if it has warped, just wanted how many hours labour you'd think.

  18. One note… In these cars with A/C, you can just take the cooling fan out and you will have plenty of room to get the manifold + front cat assembly out with no problem. There are 6mm (if I remember right) bolts at the top corners of the fan and the bottom just sits on little hangers. Remember to unplug the fan and then disconnect the fan plug wires (bottom left/driver's side) and the A/C wires (bottom right/passenger side) from the fan housing before lifting. Also, be careful not to damage the radiator.

  19. You're a wizard man. I had to pull my O2 sensor to get the exhaust out for the life of me. I couldn't get it to maneuver out with it in there still

  20. thanks for sharing this video. My opel astra h 2009 mixes oil in the cooling tank but the oil in the engine and dip stick looks fine, did you think its oil cooler that is the problem?

  24. To remove the manifold cover is a pain in the but. Even all bolts are removed, it's loose but won't be able to take it out.

  25. Hey, how long did this take from start to finish including draining coolant.

  26. How much does it cost including labour

  27. 3:21 6:31 just for reference there's no power steering pump on that area …that's the water pump housing
Replacing the metal pipes is not really needed nor suggested by anyone unless damaged…as for reference too that is actually a heat exchanger but is always improperly called by everyone oil cooler

  28. I couldn't remove the manifold, brackets were catching on cooler and A/C pipe, think I've solved it, oring was leaking on coolant pipe on RH side. How does the radiator fan assy remove please?

  29. Hi I just change the thermostat. And now is leaking from the same pipe that u did change were is connected with thermostat. I didn't have any seal or gasket there can u send me the gasket nember to get one plz

My 2009 Astra Elite 1.8 z18xer hasn’t the sludgy waters in the expansion tank.
I’ve even bought another tank that I periodically clean and swap out.
Butter definitely gonna do this now.
Was going to get a new cooler but might just do the gaskets instead now.

  32. Need this doing on my Astra 1.6. Cheapest I can get from a garage is £450. Other garages are telling me it's headgasket. So much fobbing off. How much would you charge for the job?
