The receiver drier, a key component that protects the A/C loop by Valeo

The receiver drier is a key component of the A/C loop. It protects the system by trapping water and retaining impurities and particles. 3 differents configurations exist:
• receiver drier: between the condenser and the expansion valve
• accumulator: between the evaporator and the compressor
• cartridge: integrated to the condenser

The receiver drier needs to be replaced:
• every 3 years
• every time the loop is in opened to the air (replacement of the compressor or the condenser)
