Nacho Gayan, director, Agosto, Barcelona, Spain: «The brief was to show the cutting edge technology of the Audi A4 plus desire and emotion. This is a story about admiration, positioning the A4 as an extremely advanced car and as an object of desire.

«The state-of-the-art robot had to showcase both technical advances and emotion in a short lapse of time. The robot needed to be sharp as the most efficient machine, and yet it needed to look like a human in shape and feelings.

«The robot’s motions, running and playing a fiddle like a human were challenges. It was a mechanical shape that needed to feel like a human and therefore, the steps in the run, the hands on the violin, or the look in its eyes all had to convey human meaning and feelings when doing so. We had to touch up here and there every now and then, because the robot just felt too clean, too perfect.»
