Neat and clean. Nice and tight. Very nice job if I do say so myself having done my own conversion of sorts. There is really only one thing that causes me pause and it really is Fords fault. There is literally no room for a larger tire and once you get into the stuff you need 4 wheel drive for a larger tire is nearly as effective as the 4 wheel drive. However as long as you keep it on the pavement or flat hard roads you should be fine. I doubt Cody has sand in mind anywhere or even any serious 4×4 driving off road. That 4×4 mode will make a huge difference in the winter when the roads are slick and have snow on them. Combine that 4×4 with good winter tires and it will go almost anywhere.
Look around the rear left door area, there may be a aditional 12v power source. tucked away. used for for passenger vans . good luck

I agree with not going for mercedes, the support at the dealership is garbage and the cars(vans) not made for personal transport is much lower quality than other mercedes.
better screen dealer segment judicial give suck significantly unless figure precise accounting awful.

How much for this 4×4? I'm not a Ford guy, but Mercedes are more expensive to buy and maintain!
Yeah, Europe gets the AWD version of the Transit. The downside, especially for people who want to build an interior to the hilt to do 24/7 vanlife is that the 4×4 models carry far less weight, because the 4WD system uses up a lot of the GVWR. In fact, this van also now can carry less cargo legally because of the added weight below, so that's a drawback of going 4×4. Transit buyers in Europe also get the option of a Euro6 2-liter eco diesel, which gets killer MPG compared to all the American V6:es.
In the UK ford do a 4×4 transit van
Ford offer the transit in 4×4 in europe special order from factory of course that's why all the parts have ford stamped on them cause it's a ford upgrade . They don't offer the 4×4 option in the US ?

The guy who helped me build my van has a neighbor who works for Ford; supposedly where Transits are built. He ask that guy if Ford was considering a factory 4×4, and the answer was yes. A local Ford dealer also told me this was an upgrade that is in the pipeline, for release to the dealers in 2 or so years. I have my fingers crossed this is true.
These are expensive but anytime you start looking for large 4×4 vehicles, things get pricey. A new Suburban or Expedition cost $60k or more. Find it used or save up your pennies.
How about a follow up video. Maybe some off road footage. Share an update. Any regrets? Would you do it again?
