This just bit me in the ass @ the Guangzhou GP. 7-2 Day 1, 2-0 after 2 rounds, then 0-4 collapse after playing Saito.
I like the video. Also what I would like to touch base on is the risky high reward plays. I played in a tournament recently where my opponent had two deciever exarchs out and I had a Koth of the hammer at 2 loyalty with two anger of the gods in hand. only had three mountains. I decided to kill my Koth to attempt to double anger. knowing If he had one counter in hand it was probably game. But he was running kiki jiki so I felt I had to go for it and it paid off. Also I like to go high risk high reward if I'm a game ahead.
Even God makes a platypus once in awhile…
love this video because sometimes the correct play for one player is an incorrect play for another player.
Overlap between Starcraft and Magic here.
what is your take on Blue White Spirits? I made one and it is actually very fast and can beat dilirium's speed and beat Eldrazi / kozikeks command decks. it also is great against collective company
The best players strike out 2/3 of the time? Haha just messing
There was one time where I played 100 percent perfectly, when I went on the draw and my opponent turn one killed me with storm in legacy. I made the perfect plays
A perfect play with Goblin Charbelcher is possible, lol.
I think this depends on how you define "perfect play". If perfect play means always making the decisions that lead to a win, then it really is impossible. But I think it's theoretically possible to create perfect play if you define it as "making the play most likely to lead to a win, based on the information available". I say in theory of course because in practical terms finding out what the highest percentage play is can be all but impossible. Still, I think the best conclusion to make is that "making the best decisions is hard and practically impossible so you shouldn't beat yourself up over making mistakes, but you should still try to come as close as you can to perfect play".
I've been thinking about this as well and what separates the pros from the amateurs. Often you will hear players contest that "someone was better than them" but how do you quantify this, does it have to do with overall intelligence and preparation? I would like to think regardless of intelligence, anyone can be beat on any given day if someone plays their cards right although there is luck and variance involved. I want to get better even though it seems I'm barely inching forward at times.
There is such a thing as perfect technical play where you make the best choices made available to you
Would like too see a video on how to improve your percentages. Also on mulligan percentages and help on that in general. Thanks for the content.
