You better let JACK to the crack repairs and painting…..can't use fiberglass to do that repair…..3M makes the repair products….ask JACK…he KNOWS!!!
Thank you for posting another great video my friend. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to you and your family
What did it cost you and what will its value be after fixing
Thank you for the updates. Great project to start. Great quality as always. Keep the good work and Merry Christmas to you Steven.
Keep an eye out. You'll find a cheaper one. I already see one on EBay for $474 free shipping.
Just saw a pretty good one for $200. Needs some paint.
Merry christmas
Hey Stephen on that bumper have you tried calling places here in indy I have bought a couple of fenders and bumpers from a place that's local here in indy it's called certifit they have great prices and the quality is decent lmk if you need more info on this place
There's a reason for those bumper prices. Especially during those years, Mercedes thought it was a good idea to make bumpers with up to 100 different parts that would sell separately. Also, they thought it would be even smarter to make lots of different bumpers for the same models. So, now you know why are they so expensive.
On annother note, since it is such a nice car with such little damage, I would take it to a professional. Although I would still encourage you to get your hands on some bodywork (only not on this one for your first time)
Merry Christmas!!!
plastic weld?
Dude
Try to buy only used parts
Don’t put in more money then needed
Put it together ASAP and flog it
This car is worthless.
Wanna bet ??
Can bumpers be plastic welded and re-painted?
Another euro car. Nice. Replacing the Beemer with this?
Fun fact, I totaled one of these and it wasn't even mine. It was a rebuilt title too. My insurance shelled out some money for it though. lol
Great video my friend thank you for sharing. I believe you should repair and paint it yourself. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Keep up the great videos shout out to you from Mexico.
Great car for this project Steve. Your videos are getting longer because of too much talk, it's seems your getting your script from Tavarish.. lol. Repairing that bumper and keeping it from raking again, will be a challenge, just keep looking for an used one..
Plastic weld and paint yourself, silver color is very forgiving to paint. You will be under $200 for this repair
Steven, have you checked out the used body part website called car-part dot com ? I looked quickly and they have a zillion questions that depend on the trim level of the car.. I am betting you can find a cover on that site if you dig hard enough. Just my $0.02
Nice. Should bring about $3500-4000 when repaired with clean title. Did you go look at it before you bought it?
Fix
I would fix the bumper but I would use epoxy on inside instead of bondo. I would bet the tie rod ends were probably broke when the rollback or wrecker strapped the front end down when it was wrecked!
May as learn how to paint 🙂 but if you go with Harbor Freight I would recommend their "professional" $70 gun (vs $15 one). I mean I like the purple wonder but it's coarseness makes it a better primer gun (thicker material). Given it's so inexpensive I have both and don't worry about primers wear and tear on the main gun. Sure there are better guns, but unless you are going to be doing a lot of painting their cost would make it cheaper to have your friends shop do the work 🙂
Great project. Just picked up the same car today with 130,000 miles. Looks good with only minor parking dings. Looking forward to your project.
Our U pull it Yard has a 2001 E320 but i don't know if that bumper is the same.
Hi..Steve. Use Hot air plastic welder..Check this video out.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEGb4ofbGOE
Thats ONE serious project! Can't wait to see it!
When are you planning to create more videos about this?
Are you still alive?
Keep making videos bro you inspire me
Was enjoying your videos. What happened to you? Was waiting for the final video on the engine swap.
Used to watch your videos when I was in US. I hope you will be back soon! Hope everything's good! 🙂
Just got a W211 E320 CDI with blown injectors myself and rebuilding it with a new SBC and a new OM648 motor. Apart from the occasional electrical gremlins these suffer from, I find the 211 to be a great balance between conservative styling and modern amenities (W210 is showing its age at this point).
Lots of love & respect from Pakistan,
Fahad.
