  1. Oil catch can.. I hate to say it but no oil leaks and no burnt oil smell. Oil probably in your intake and all over your valves.

  2. My S5 doesnt leak or burn oil. Although, mine is 2008 V8. I use Motul oil in mine and drive somewhat aggresive. From what I hear from many sources, oil consumption is common with both engine configurations. I do find it hard to believe you should have to do it as frequently as you do. Definitely document miles and quantity. Dont wait on the issue, and dont let dealer dismiss. Go corporate if you must. If you dont have dipstick how do you know how much to add? I'd be scared to just put quarts of oil in just because the light is on. I would have been taking to dealer. They may say you over filled and your at fault.

  3. Doesn't sound normal pimp. I topped my RS5 once in a lil over 2k miles. Yeah have them check that out.

  4. My E60 M5, with the V10 is the same way. I also had a Mazda RX7, back in the day that consumed even more oil, with that rotary engine, it chugged the oil. I really enjoy your videos. Keep it up, man!

  5. I've got the 335i & my oil is never really low. I've only topped up once in two years.

  6. Get a blackstone reading of the oil and make a video of the analysis. That would be very interesting

  7. take you back to the dealer before you lock the motor up. because you're warranty should have you covered

  8. Im calling B.S. On the dealer. If you have seen my channel then you know we drive our cars hard. Our 2015 S5 Cabriolet that I bought with 4K miles and we have put 18k on it in a year. No oil added. Is your dealer owned by the Sonic Group like mine? If so, I can share multiple issues with my Audis and BMWs…

  9. audi enthusiasts here what happened here is audi s are known to burn oil not leak onto the floor so when you start your car it would come out blue out the exhaust.your not tripping the piston rings are leaking into the combustion chamber and burning it through the exhaust.

  10. I have a A5 2.0t and my car drinks about a 1/2 qt every 1000 miles. I been told by many audi owners that they drink a bit of oil but i agree its annoying

  11. Last resort is to install an oil catch can

  12. catchcan clean carbon build up and method kit should help with your oil

  13. I bought my 2014 S5 new and I've never had to top it off (37k miles). I see threads about the A5 burning oil, but I can't remember seeing any threads over at Audizine about the SC V6 having issues. Seems like it's getting worse…..

I'd start a thread in the S5 section over at Audizine and see what others think.

  14. Previous owner must've beat the poor thing

  15. its not a leak audi, bmw, and subi say it's normal for some of their cars to have to be topped off between 600 and 1000 miles between oil changes

  16. oh im a audi vw driver 2013 s5/ 2004 r32 2013 r

  17. I have an S4 with the same engine (2013 with <30K miles). The oil consumption is not normal and Audi needs to document the consumption if you are still under warranty. I would not use Castrol (sorry Castrol) go to something else like, Amsoil, Red-line, Shell Rotella, Total, etc. Hold off on the tune until you get this sorted out. Also check out the PCV system to make sure it is not blocked. Maybe get a real dipstick via ECS to confirm the oil level.

  18. Catch can is a good mod to put on the list but I would deal with Audi before installing anything else or changing oils, so they can't blame you and close the door on consumption test and new motor.

  19. I have '13 S5 DSG and I change the oil once a year. I have to top it off about once between the oil changes (every ~5K miles). It does burn some oil but not as much as you're describing. The dealer will top it off for you for free. Drive it like grandma for the next few weeks and watch the oil indicator to get an idea when it actually starts dropping. Is it gradual, does it happen all at once, etc.?

  20. try having a b series honda motor. Went through a quart of oil in 120 miles.

  21. This is a common issue with Audi. Earlier years before yours actually had a recall that ended up turning into a class action lawsuit. It was also with a different engine. but like I said, Audi is known for high oil consumption. I forget what the part is that causes it. but if you google it I'm sure you'll be able to find it. Also, do a little research on oil weight. especially for higher heat levels since you drive in a lower gear at a higher RPM. that will help a bit.

  22. I would really recommend a carbon cleaning of the valves just my two cents

  23. Just out of curiosity, when you drive on a hot day with your fan on (not AC) do you get a smell of oil coming from the vents?

  24. The Audi's Manual, states 1qt every 600 as normal. Crazy!!!. The Audi dealer people are massive idiots (will not admit oil issue). I solved my oil issue @ 48,000 miles. A can of "engine restorer" on my 2.0 with royal purple. Thank God!!!!!!! have put 800 miles and no oil consumption. Runs nice, too.

  25. My 2011 S5 3.0TFSI S-Tronic with Stage2 burns approx. 1l (a quarter) per 4k km (2.5k miles) lately. So after reading the below comments I'm gonna check my PCV valve, too. BTW, I use Motul 8100 X-cess 5W-40 full synthetic for lower fuel consumption and I'm satisfied with the results.

  26. Unfortunately I do believe that is a normal thing with Audi. I have an S4 B8 and my oil lamp comes on every 1500 to 2000 miles. It just needs to be topped off. Make sure you know the type of oil that is used when they service your S5. It's an Audi S thing I believe.

  27. Luke Luke:

I have the same issue with my A5 2.0 TFSI

  28. 2003 330i Bmw guzzles oil like its gas

  29. I just took my s5 in for service and I had an issue with my sport differential , I'm running stage 2 and they fixed my car without mentioning the tune at all.

  30. I burn a quart every 1200, my a4 burnt oil every 1500 miles, I've been burning oil for a long ass time, a certain percentage of audis burn oil. It's just a fact of life

  31. Hey D, I've got a 2014 S5, about 45k miles. 2k miles ago, I put in an APR Stage II upgrade with dual pulleys, APR DSG tune, a Roc Euro intake, and have had no issues with oil consumption (before or after mods, to note). I have no issues to note in general, either. Sorry to hear this has been an issue for you.
