why do my brake pads look different?
Firstly, turn the steering on a left hand lock, you will have a lot more room.
Then, push the old pads back (against the pistons) before you remove them, easier to take them out, and no need to use a tool to push the pistons back later.
Calliper bolts are NOT made of aluminium, they are zinc plated steel bolts. You DON’T hit a three eighth ratchet with a hammer. Bodge.
Don’t use WD40 on rubber seals, it does them in. Calliper bolts do need ‘torquing’ and thread locked when replaced.
Don’t use lithium grease on brakes, sparingly apply anti seize (copper slip).
You don’t know what you’re doing.
BODGER.
I usually turn my wheel full right/left to get better leverage to loosen/tighten & torque brake caliper brackets.
so what’s the special tool for just removing the pads an compressing the dual pistons back in?
that is by far the best video i saw on youtube. Explanation 10/10 !! keep it man bro !
U are awesome! thanks for the video
I need to know what to use to back those pins out
Hi Durbin love your videos, would loosen the bracket bolts in the opposite direction on the other side of the car. Thanks
Hi mate can you remember the Fremax part number? Was it BD0431 ?
well done, thank for for sharing.
I drive a 15’ Merc C Class W205 and every 3 months I have to have the discs and pads replaced due to juddering under braking. I’ve gone through 5 sets now. I only drive it once a week for less than 50 miles and do no sudden braking. Anyone know what might be causing this?
Hi, great video mate. Did you have to go to the car's menu to reset brakes sensor countdown and if so where is the menu to do this. Thanks
Wow very impressive! We have a 2019 Mercedes C 300 Base; would this procedure be the same for our car…
TheDurbinCompound…I love it when clueless guys like you make instructional videos!….The inside pads do not ''generally wear faster than the outside'' they should wear at the exact same rate when serviced correctly…but the sensor should be placed on the inside pad… just because the inside pad is ''generally'' harder to visually inspect than the outside pad…
@TheDurbinCompound : i did exactly like in the video, step by step, everything went smooth ( replaced sport front brake pads) but my pads are not biting the full size of the rotor. Did i do something wrong? Or its a bad rotor?
I have trouble with removing bolts of calipers… disaster….
Great video.
Good video..
Thank you!!!! Greetings from Germany
Is there difference in the fit for the sport package vs the non sport on the brake system?
Is there not a sensor on every wheel?
bravissimo questo video mi e stato utilissimo ciao
Great job and video! I see why my mechanic wants around 600! Very informative! Thanks
Thanks for this very detailed video. Used this to change the brake pads on my W206 C300.
Phenomenal video very explanatory. Do you have one for the rear?
Can you put 342mm rotors from 318mm with the same calipers?
I have now 318mm rotor.
And if fits what pads I need?
Very good video you covered all the points thanks great job
Do you need to do the computer break replacement setting?
First thing you do is put it in service mode
thanks !
Never ever lube threads. You're screwing the whole torque specs of the manufacturer and the bolt will be overloaded when tightening. And, for gods sake, just buy metric tools…
Great video, thanks a lot! I am planning to renew my disk breaks and pads in the front of MB C300 S205 over the Christmas time. For the big bots I would probably use Loctite compound to make it fixed. I am a bit scared to apply too much torque (without knowing how much) on the aluminum parts. From the other side, if I apply too little, there is a chance of loosing it (don't know the right English word for it).
What size rotor is that ?
Good video
I have 2016 c300 4matic (non AMG), what are the better brakes and rotors for a smooth driving outcome? And where can I buy some at a great value?
