Mercedes-Benz offers compact-car customers a potpourri of choices, including the Mercedes Benz A-class 2018 hatchback, the B-class multipurpose vehicle, the four-door CLA-class, the CLA-class shooting brake, and the GLA-class crossover. There are Mercedes-AMG versions of all but the B-class, which instead offers electric, natural-gas, and fuel-cell variants in addition to the usual gasoline and diesel powertrains. In all, some 2 million of such models have been sold since 2012. While the designs still look relatively fresh five years on, the lineup soon will be replaced, and the handsome Concept A sedan offers a first glimpse at the next generation of baby Benzes.
Previewed in sculpture form in January, the Concept A sedan was revealed at the 2017 Shanghai auto show.
