Conor McGregor was whacked with a fine yesterday, after he pleaded guilty to speeding. The €400 (£350) fine isn’t likely to upset him too much, but the same can’t be said for the stinger inflicted on him by a member of the press outside of court.
McGregor, who wore a tracksuit for his day in court, was mobbed by journalists as he left Blanchardstown District Court in Dublin, amongst them was RTE reporter Paul Reynolds.
As he approached his car, a BMW worth around £114,500 ($130,000), alongside his entourage, McGregor said: «What a motor. Look at that motor!»
Prompting Reynolds to say: «It’s only a 1.5, Conor.»
McGregor looked a bit like he’d had the wind knocked out of him by Reynold’s cheeky comment and took a few seconds to compose himself before saying: «It’s a rocket ship.»
