We finally get behind the wheel of the Hyundai i20 N Line with its much-anticipated 6-speed manual transmission! After the lackluster performance of the DCT and the underwhelming iMT gearbox, this version brings hope for enthusiasts craving a fun-to-drive hatchback. With its 1.0 TGDi petrol engine and sporty design, the big question is whether it can fill the void left by the beloved Volkswagen Polo. Join us as we test its performance, handling, and driving dynamics to see if the i20 N Line Manual can truly live up to the hype.

I am sorry but the interior and the exterior alike of this i20N IS HORRIFYING, when compared to elite i20. The elite i20 had an understated elegance, it had charm, and most importantly it had the best engine for its time with super tuneable diesel. IN MY HUMBLE OPINION I WOULD RATHER BUY 2019 MAKE I20 ASTA (0) CRDI AND TUNE IT TO MAKE 115 HP AND 260NM WITH A SIMPLE MILD TUNE VERSUS PURCHASING THIS ABOMINATION WHICH LOOKS LIKE A TOY.
drive in delhi's traffic then you'll know what should you buy (speaking only for delhites)
95% performance of polo + cent percent practicality. That's i20 Nline. Sad it wasn't there in manual 2 years back when I picked one.
Please share the alloy size and tyre profile.
Do this same review for Creta n line too
I have a n8 manual ….What a car man can gap polos all day everyday .Recently went on a trip with my friends we had 6 members in the car and one guy was over 160kg we gapped a polo at around 180’s
The i20 1.0 T-GDI MT gets rear discs whereas the Verna 1.5 T-GDI MT gets rear drums. I just want to know what were the guys behind this decision smoking when they came up with this brilliant idea. That must be some high quality stuff
i20 dislike button
Took a test drive of i20 nline. I felt my 13 year old diesel polo is still superior.
Decent video. Thanks for spreading the word about a lively and special little car. Given your experience with a bunch of VAG vehices etc, the handling and sportier suspension definitely deserves a mention. It is incredible for a hatchback in stock form. Manual is definitely the one too have but I wouldn't write of the DCT completely either.
sad that no diesel in n-line.
Don't compare vwith polo
१.० tsi made १७०+ bhp but in india vw give ११० bhp smoothly its worth without any vaibration
Everyone is gangster till you drive the Polo, nothing even comes close to that feeling period.
Every year they make it look more and more like the Polo
Polo is still better performing car.
I have a 23 N8 iMT. I love that everyone kept sh*tting on it. Got me an insane discount.
proud owner of Venue N line N8 manual
I totally agree with you. I have driven both the Polo and the i20 nLine and all the sedans available under 25 lac. Out of the box the i20 nline is the most fun to drive car and the best car in terms of handling under 25 lac. I hope the 4th gen i20 includes the 1.5 gdi, a limited slip diff, 17 inch alloys and 5 star safety rating into the package just like the global N model and keeps the price at around 20 lacs.
Still fronx or taisor turbo manual is better….power figures are less on paper but in real world will bit i20…
I own an i20 N Line N8 Manual 2024 model. I drove 15000 kms in 12 months and this is my review.
Summary: I bought i20 N Line instead of Polo because of the modern tech that the car comes with. And I am planning to use the car till 80000 kms.
Pros:
1. Engine (Current best in segment) & Refinement
2. Suspension is stiff. Damn good for high speeds.
3. Music System in N8. Bose is damn!!
4. Looks! Comes out of the box like a modified car! (Except for that alloy wheels)
Cons:
1. Turbo Lag (Turbo activates after ~2100rpm. In hills, it feels like a sluggish block)
2. Paint Quality Sucks. (Never get 3M Ceramic from Hyundai)
3. Windshield Glass Quality! (It is same that you get in i10).
4. Regular Service is expensive for no reason.
Curious To Know:
1. What do you think about the performance air filter?
2. Any Mods that you suggest?
3. I want to keep my Black Hyundai Scratch Less in Dusty City. How?
4. Anyone added a spoiler?
Figo and Punto were far superior in the handling and dynamics department, where cars have a soul! Still proud to own a proper 1.5 Dragon AT Figo which belts out 123bhp from factory and does 0-100 under 10 secs. Hyundai is late tot the market but there's virtually no competition in this space, so they have a market for these.
Bro better compare with altroz racer n come with genuine video…
People talk about hatchbacks completely forgetting the Punto Abarth that's waiting in the shadows.
Choosing DCT is a fun option in fwd cars rather than choosing a mt which is not rwd which is boring, wt is the advantage of mt in fwd cars?
Best Hot Hatch ever is debatable when we had the VW Polo Twins, Fiat Punto Abarth, the Palio 1.6 S10 and even the Ford Figo 1.5 Diesel. All of them with stonking engines and Great handling.
I wish we could get the European i20N which has 200 Ps power and the iconic performance blue colour
If you ever drive a hyundai car, you will notice they put really good efforts in overall vehicle creation. every detail is just perfect.
Wheel specification??
that rat shield aint gonna do anything choom lol, but nice rims :)))
How hard is the clutch. Is it comfortable?
Please, I mean please make a vd on virtus 1.5 manual and review the gearbox like in this vd. Many Indians are planning to buy the manual but hesitant about the shift quality and the long travel clutch 5:56
Kylaq coming guyss
its Nline..There is a Beast N..The Past Worked In BMW M Division..Albert Biermann..He Tunes The N Versions..its A Big Kick For Germans By A German.Todays german is not thrilling as old one..But N Has..
Do a review on racer r3 altroz too ❤
I don't understand the point of this video. Is it just as a good hatch? or a hot hatch? If Hot hatch is the criteria, then polo is anyone's pick. Abarth, even better! Nobody cares about interior quality or fit and finish, when going for a tuneable hot hatch. To be frank and honest, hyundai's TGDI doesn't feel like its putting out close to 120bhp at any point. Overall, just felt like a sponsored video to shove hyundai cars down the throats of consumer.
I have the new 2024 nline automatic and the DCT geabox is effortless super smooth
How best the i-20MT satisfies the Drivers-CAR Tag ? HYUNDAI has definitely good looking Interiors/Better features etc and its what is known far.
Noiiceee EDIT brothers!!
Hello Sir , I am planning to buy I20 Nline Manual but I have some doubts —
1. Is it okay to buy this as a primary car coz I have 4 people in my family mejority time they travel with us .
2. My main running on the city and less on the highways should i still consider that car ?
3. I hard about the Stiff suspension it is okay for the passengers ???
4. We are in living in the country where mejority of the time in summer so AC on + 4 person on board with luggage car can perform ??
5. what is the performace in the hills
6. if you shift the gears around 2500 RPM is it gives good milage ??
I20 vs racer ?
My 2009 Honda city has a 118bhp and that too with a NA engine. Just saying.
Hyundai paid attention and Volkswagen neglected us. Look at the models they sell elsewhere.
"Ever" ?
