www.How2Wrench.com broke the mold of the delivery of tech training. We offer professional tech training over the phone. Your shop, your schedule. If you have Apple products, we can even provide guided assistance over Facetime. (I suggest asking a friend to borrow theirs now!)
Imagine this… you’re in your shop wrenching away and you get stuck. You just hit a wall and no matter how hard you try, you can’t find a next step. You reach for the phone and hit speed dial. The number saved in your favorites is your personal coach at How2wrench! No sitting through hours of YouTube videos, websites or giving up!
You can schedule time with a veteran technician to walk you through what you’re wrenching on. You can email info, photos and details directly to trainer. It’s the next closest thing to us sitting right next to you.
This service is intended to fill the gap in many areas of need. Let me list a few:
The DIY person needing help with a specific skill
A tech just needing an advanced lesson or next step in their knowledge base
Someone who would give anything to drop everything and move to a tech school but life just didn’t deal those cards. They understand the learning curve may take longer but are relentless in their desire to learn.
Observant parents lacking the skill sets to teach their kids mechanics but see them craving to use tools and their hands.

How about a fork rebuild?
Great job Shane.
Question: When the engine is cold, the clutch works perfect, once the engine reaches running temperature my clutch engages and t he bike does not go anymore, you can shift gears with the engine running without using the clutch while you sit still, it is as if there was moisture or water or perhaps air in the salve cylinder or the fluid line but I have already checked everything including bleeding the system more than a couple of times and still the same problem. I just got a used in good conditions spare clutch master cylinder from Ebay the other day and will install it once i get the time and hope this solves my problem. It seems like if once the engine warms up the clutch lever gets tite (no play) and the clutch acts as if it becomes engaged and stays that way. What causes that and perhaps a rebuild will solve it? Thank you my friend!
Fuck me I put the seal in backwards thank you for the help
Should all master cyclinder rebuild kits come with a cylinder? My kit I bought off ebay doesn't have one (Yamaha WR250R)

Really good video as is part 2, new to fixing bikes this has help a lot.
Excellent well explained.
Sir plz make a video for how diaphragm in mc works and relief hole in detail…plzz
No sir …i m concerned about the master cylinder diaphragm and relief hole….plz make one video on that….also about primary and secondary seals on brake pistons
Sir can u tell me what should caliper piston to bore clearance be like??….its a two pot aluminum piston caliper
Now how do you pressurize it?
DOT 3 and 4 are water soluble. I always wash these things with hot water and soap. I use the baby bottle brush from Walmart to clean them. if really grimy I use my sonic cleaner with simple green, rince really good. sometime I put it in the dish washer. Then I dry with an old hair dryer, let it cool then put it back together, viola, it works
Excellent video. I used it to rebuild my master brake cylinder on a Yamaha Roadstar with no problems.
Can you possibly do a video on recharging the braking system after the rebuild with any tips to make the job quicker and easier ? It took me quite a while to get the brake pressure back up.
Thanks.
Shane, your videos are so awesome! thank you very much. I share them with my buddies here in Korea.
Thank you Shane, I'm just in the process of renewing an '84 Aspencade's clutch master cylinder and this explained it better than the Honda manual! Great tip about fluid level and pad wear, in 25 years of riding and maintaining that never crossed my mind!
Hi Shane, I love your videos and learn many things.I would like to ask you s.thing.I have DR 350 Suzuki 1995 mod.I just made a hole on front dumper with drill:( while I was trying to take out a broken bolt.I do not know if I can stick it or repair in anyway. Can you recommend me s.thing.thx and keep doing this wonderful job.
I used your video to learn about master cylinder rebuild for my older car that's hard to find parts for. Thank you.
Changed front brake pads on 09 rebel 250 and the master cylinder leaked a small amount from the small piece that is pushed in by brake lever when squeezed. Am I okay or do I have a proplem?
