See the difference between me racing with paddle shifters and yalomich32000 using a H-Shifter and Clutch in Weekly Race C with the Toyota 86 GT on Tsukuba.
It´s impossible to overtake as using the clutch for upshifts gives an advantage of about 0,3-0,4 seconds on the main straight. Even with slipstream there´s no way to pass.
The only opportunity to overtake is a bigger mistake of your opponent.

The difference is extreme.. A decent driver like the Frenchman was able to keep a very good driver like you behind for 17 laps which is unfair. Especially from gear 2-3 he was always pulling away. If you wouldn't have stayed in the slipstream he would have won easily.
You were always late in upshift, which made you slower than him on straight, and if you choose a better apex, you will pass over him easily
