Hi I have a question. I have an 03 g35. I bought a clutch kit (EXEDY NSK1000 OE) and a solid mass flywheel. When I took it to the mechanic he said the solid flywheel isn't compatible with my clutch and that I needed a "dual" mass flywheel. The person I bought the solid flywheel from said that it was OK to install solid mass flywheel on the clutch regardless of compatibility.
I don't know whether to return the solid mass flywheel and get a dual mass (which is 3x the price) or install the solid mass flywheel on the clutch anyway?
Thanks in advance! Appreciate your response since you seem to have tried the solid mass flywheel.
I have a question. ¿can i use a clutch disc without springs and a solid fly wheel together?
Any shatter after the conversion install?
If you go single does it make a lot of noise when idle on a Manual???
The difference between single mass and dual mass in that in the single mass the second mass is the input shaft on the transmission (as the clutch disc has an insignificant mass), so that the harmonics of the engine will be transmitted to the entire transmission to a much greater extent. The DMF is a better solution for engines that have very high torques, especially in the low RPM range, it will provide a smoother power delivery and protect the transmission better against shocks.
