Hi Ken, great video! Just a note; the regular e-tron has 94 kWh battery, Q4 e-tron has 82. However; because of the smaller and lighter specs, the Q4 has more range. I’ve reservation for the e-tron, but would switch to the Q4 when available.
The el born is a really cool car. The perfect balance between Innovation and tradition.
If it hasn’t got a plug it is not a hybrid. Think about it for a moment. The petrol engine charges the battery. Then the engine is still chucking out CO2 fumes/. There is no such thing as a non plug in hybrid car.
Another informative episode, love the looks of the Fiat and the VW Buggy ! Not sure about your new catchphrase, keep trying.
Thanks. Keep it coming!
I was looking this morning to see if there was anything new and no it was about a week. Was happy to see this pop up
Can u please always put somewhere on screen miles equivalent?
the leaf's pricing seems wholly non competitive vs Tesla's range. THe only advantage I'd say Nissan has is parts availability. On top of a non-liquid cooled battery pack, I'd avoid buying either so far. Kia's or Hyundai's ev offferings seems the most well rounded for someone who wants something with a very established parts network and a certain floor of dependability reputation.
One tailpipe at a time is a great idea.
So many upcoming EV's and it's really exciting 😀
ATTENTION NISSAN…too little too late. Not on same level as Tesla model 3…☹
Hi Ken, thanks for your work. A big ouchie in the last month. My immaculate 2009 F150 Platium was due for service @ 50k miles. Changed oil & lube, & recommended radiator flush and apprx $325 bill. Drove apprx 100 miles & noticed a big puddle of red oil under it. Back to Dealer thinking they left something loose — but a transmission "connecter" seal failed — 1.5 hours shop labor and parts and another $371. Then engine warning light came on in my Subaru Forster XT — Had to replace two emissions related valves and replaced all fluids — total bill = $2,167. Ouch! Now the POINT! My LEAF has no similar transmission fluids, no emission stuff to go wrong. A Ford salesman insisted I drive a 2019 F-150 Raptor while waiting for service — with 8k miles it was priced @ $61K (the one sitting in the showroom was priced $74,800.00)— twin turbo V-6 — I will NEVER be tempted by something like that — way too complicated — service over 5 years would most likely buy a new traction battery for my LEAF. I'm for going all electric!!!
Nissan Leaf is first to 400k global sales but I think the Model 3 will be the first to 500k global sales.
"One tailpipe at a time" is a cute phrase but basing things on something you want to eliminate is a bit negative. It will become less effective as conversions are made. It would be good to run with for a while though, while EVs are an extreme minority. The greatness of EVs isnt about them not having tailpipes. It's about them being clean/efficient/practical/fun/low-maintenance…. There are so many virtues there is no point of focusing on vices they don't have. 🙂 Great show btw. 🙂
I really hope Sion breaks out of the vaporware phase and actually starts making cars. I love the practical/affordable/solar qualities of what they are proposing. The modern auto manufacturing industry is set on people dishing out $30,000 or more for cars but I see no reason why things have to stay so expensive. Cost of raw materials aside, I see no reason why costs for good vehicles need to stay that high. Once the battery technology matures there may be no good reason why a quality car can't be less than $15k new. Manufactureres need to avoid unnessary gadgetry for mani-stream products. Let the majority of options be practical while a few others make gadget-rich "nerdmobiles" for those who want that. We need to get these cars in the hands of the masses and we don't achieve that by piling on lots of techno-fluff.
Love the Fiat concept, especially the modular battery design. Makes so much sense.
But how much of this will get to market?
The VW—the new bug-eyed Sprite? Also, love the Fiat—now if they could just figure out a realistic shifter for electrics.
If that red concept art (8:18) is what the Model Y is going to look like then I am on board. I just assumed its a smaller Model X without the falcon doors. We're not a sedan family because of the weekend activities and the dogs so it works for us.
G'day Ken. Great informative video!! The Sion is an exciting vehicle & looking forward to further news / developments. In regards to the Nissan e-Power vehicles my understanding is as compared to a Chevy Volt the e-Power vehicles don't have a plug & run 100% on fossil fuels? Whereas the Chevy Volt has a plug where you can drive so far on electricity then when the battery is empty it will run on the fossil battery charger. Keep up the good work! Cheers.
That Fiat Centoventi is everything. Very modular.
You can't take companies like Sono seriously, since that have no sales/ service infrastructure in place… anywhere!
Can I say that I love the FIAT concept EV? It's so cute and appears to be functional as well. as always, great delivery and thanks for the succinct update on the EV world
19:40 while ppl expected the efficiency to be low cause its a SUV, i think they compared the efficiency to tesla model x and thas where ppl were down about
Don't forget the Nissan ENV 200 electric vans cheers

If someone drives a vehicle with more than one taking, does it take longer to educate them?
Thanks for another great show, Ken! I love, love, love the Fiat Centoventi! Just want to hug it once it gets on the market!! I was blown away by this new, innovative concept from Fiat's entry into the EV market. Actually, I was so impressed by it that I wrote a lengthy comment on their site, a first for me. The VW buggy is also really cute and sporty-fun, and does indeed harken back to the 'good old days' for me in its original iteration, lol. And I like the solar addition to the Sion redesign. The Geneva Show was replete with some very cool, innovative EVs, far more than what was available in the Detroit and Toronto shows. I am much heartened and ever more hopeful about all the new entries into the EV market!! These are exciting times !!
Thank you Matt for your comment, it is apparent that Nissan does not care about their customers.
I am so excited about the Sono Motors Sion I reserved serial number 4,234 and live in sunny Phoenix Arizona. Did they talk about they plans for sales and approval in the USA. So far I haven't heard anything. Thank you.
