Dry sump engines remove the oil tank located in the sump at the bottom engine to another location away from the engine.
Advantages:
— Lower engine and thus lower vehicle CG (center of gravity), which leads to better car handling
— Oil does not get agitated by G-forces or crankshaft
— The oil tank can be located, where it can affect the vehicle’s weight distribution in a positive manner
Disadvantages:
— Higher complexity and thus costs
— More components

thank you very much 🙂
very well explain, thank you.
Very helpful video. I am going for my pilots licence and was wondering which sump system would work better on smaller planes and why. Thanks
The crank configuration is a bit bizarre… There is normally 2 pistons on the same level and 2 pistons on another. But that's a good video, thanks !
very nice explaination , thank you
so on the wet sump system, you mention the oil gets pumped upwards to lubricate the cylinders. so how does it get pumped up?
Pistons 2&3 fucked up lol
