In this introduction video of the Electric 818 car by EV West and 33 Machine, we take it out to Adams Motorsport Park for an initial shakedown. The car is powered by a HPEVS AC2-35 dual AC motor setup running at 144kW. The car has 16kWh of capacity, and can drive about 60-70 miles on it’s lightweight lithium ion battery pack. Recharging is done through an onboard 5000kW charger, and is public charge station compatible, making this street legal electric rocket ship a great way to run around town, and still have track-worthy performance. The current weight of the car is 1700 pounds, but it still needs just under 250 pounds of bodywork added to the car giving an estimated final weight of 1950 pounds. 1. Guys, you rule! Do you sell them? Congrats!

  2. Awesome!! I want I want I want!!

  3. an electric exoskeleton car would be badass. Just last week I was thinking how awesome an electric mev rocket would be but I don't have the money or know how to start a project like that.

  4. Epo Epo:

Please take my 2001 e38 iL and turn it into an electric daily driver…I know I'll have more customers from our 7series groups and from the forums.

  5. Larz Larz:

Is this going to be a formula drift car?  It looks like the only thing this car is good at is converting electricity into wheel spin.

  6. Hey guys.. congratulations on your build.  I have seen a few cars with this configuration and was wondering: which rear transaxle are you guys using? Which rear transaxle is the most popular?  It looks like a direct drive setup, right?  I'd appreciate if you could let us know what the major components are. Thanks

  7. Yo, that's a cool car and all but I am pretty sure that's a VW Samba-bus stealing the show at 0:44. Cutting corners too.

  8. cool go-cart, not a car in its current form.

  9. Electrics will eventually rewrite every combustion powered automotive, motorcycle speed record. With the electric motors producing more then double the efficiency of a combustion engine, all that's needed to start the revolution is high capacity batteries

  10. Awesome! What was the total cost of this project?

  11. cant wait to see this on a big track so it can open up!

  12. love what you guys are doing keep it up its what the masses need today.

  13. love this, its not just another conversion.fit it with a replicate  body, walk in the dealer ,you pick the body, dash, seats you would like.designer cars.Maybe a 356,or a 69 AMX or a VW.any car with a short wheelbase would work fine Very nice

  14. Can we see the completed car with body?

  15. Hey dick knob, thanks for playing that shitty 70's porn music so we can't hear how quiet the car is.

  16. Can you guys do a build series on youtube for a factory 5 818 EV using your parts?

  17. That thing is ultra fine and looks like it's ultra fun!

  18. ok now, picture this without removing your pants:

factory five 65 coupe (daytona coupe replica) high performance EV project

    ….

i told you NOT to take your pants off

  19. hi
can please tell us which motor you are using for this car ???

  20. LOL @ the XSPC cooling pump @2:25
Computer cooling components on a car?

  21. I like this Idea using the New FFR 818-C Body. What would be the total turn-key cost of a setup like this? Also do you have some Performance Spec.s on this setup?

  22. "Recharging is done through an onboard 5000kW charger" — 5 MEGAWATT charger on board ???

    Maybe 5KW or 5000W ???

  23. Why can't this douchebag keep the grip in his rear tyres? I can't wait for drifting to go out of fashion.

  24. IJM IJM:

That looks very much like Jehu Garcia's type 2 running around the track…

  25. Looks like the electric motor is connected to the typical WRX gearbox, right? I noticed a shift during the video, do you guys drive it like a normal car (using all gears) or just use one or two and the torque do the work?

  26. What transmission is connected between the engine and the driveshafts?

  27. I see you used a transaxle to send power from the motor to the wheels. Wouldn't it be lighter and simpler to just have a differential acting as a reduction gear?

  28. an electric gtm super car would be dope. but i want to know, factory five made these kit cars so you can out it together in your garage with hand tools. if i wanted to go the electric route, hiw simple would it be for me to put together in my home garage? ro would i need to send it out to you?

  29. electric cars do have sound. it's a very different sound that what were used to obviously. but dose sound incredible

  30. We want numbers! 0-60! Hp output and torque! Is this comparable to the Subaru engine that is typically in that 818

  31. Handles great? What's up with every video of it turning being a drift?
