Engine fan module failure DIY repair.
Fan always on regardless temperature or any other engine parameters.
This repair is by far more complicated than it looks. It was reported a price as low as 20€ for a used module. Considering the Bill Of Materials plus the time to fix, it is by far easier to replace the module.
I’ll keep this diy for informative purpose, in case one imagines this is simple task.
If one «disliked» the video, it would be equally beneficial to specify the reason of that. I do believe in constructive criticism.

way too much work, just buy another fan assembly
I just bought it fan assembly from Amazon for $120 brand new and it work as soon as I plugged it in. now don't worry about it

I have the same problem. I have a e46 320d from the year 2000. The fan stays on and I don't seem to have a coolant temperature sensor like everyone else. Is there anything I'm missing like a relay or should I just pull the fan out and replace the components like you?
Que un buen trabajo, tengo un problema, pero la mía es diferente, en mi caso el ventilador no está activado, tengo 12v en 4 de las 5 líneas del módulo, he desarmado y lo único que he encontrado es un condensador de 3,3 uf no retiene carga, no sé si este es el problema, pero tengo miedo a fallar después de conectar un ventilador eléctrico directo al radiador, apreciaría mucho su ayuda.
my e46 318i 2001 radiator fan is not working, i turn the ac on and the fan is suppose to be on but it's not, i unplug the wire jump it straight with two wire from battery right through fan motor negative and positive terminal it's turn the fan on but when i jump with the wire that goes to the resistor or you call it module it is not turn on , then i also place a jumper wire through a connector straight to the fan positive and negative terminal fan is turn on, i think there is something fail in that module.
