This was Genius.I was told by a friend with a lot of experience with BMWs not to buy this car.The four best days of your life…when you buy a boat/when you sell a boat…when you buy a BMW/when you sell a BMW.Ya, I've had issues with the car, but I deal with them. Nothing like driving a five speed Beamer.-My trunk was filling with water…big time. Had me regretting the day I bought the 2002 325ci for my wife.I read all the post on the Beamer websites how to solve this problem.Remove the backseat, remove the side panels, remove the soft top, blah blah blah.Wholly schnitz! That would cost me a Saturday.-Saw this video (thanks to the gentleman who posted it).Went to the grocery store (Kroger) and bought some PlumR.-Side one was draining slowly, started there.Poured the stuff in.Waited.In about 3 minutes got a drip every 5 seconds…every 3 seconds…every 1 second…then it drained…score!Went to side two, it was totally clogged.Waited 5 minutes, thought I was toast.Waited.Then a drip. More drips…then a total drain.Clear.I backed the cleaner up with lots of water so as to leave no residue.-My advice, don't go to the dealer (who will charge you $1,000 to do what I did) or jump through all the dismantling hoops to shove a wire down the drain tubes.No brainer.Clear it with chemicals.Then, follow up with lots of clean water.
I have water in my passenger floor. Seeing that the convertible has no sunroof drains this is my next culprit. I haven't noticed any wetness in the trunk.

What should I do to stop my top to stop in that position? Do I just need to stop pressing the button until a certain extent or is there a special way to stop it at the right position?

Does the e46 have two drain plugs each side? What if you have lots of water under your battery what do you do ??
Would this form any rust??

hi man, I'm from South America, what kind of chemical did you used to unplug?
worked like a charm! would suggest anyone who is trying this to be patient as one side for me took 10 mins for it to drain while the other side took about 20 mins to drain. Also, be sure to rinse/flush with plenty of warm water.

this worked so well i basically used industry acid drain unblocker which started smoking but i was using water with it constantly pouring it and it unblocked amazingly a roof specialist was charging me 380 i got it done for £10 make sure you super rinse it with water afterwards
what chemical did you use exactly. was it cosmic soda based

Excellent! I had also tried the snake down the drain, and had water standing in the back of the convertible top area, and underneath the battery.
What the heck — $5 for some Draino? My drains were cleaned out in 5 minutes! Thank goodness — really didn't want to mess with the top since it is working nicely!
I used Pro Strength Draino Max Gel. Not the acid based stuff.
