It seems like you were following at a pretty low throttle setting most of the flight so flying pretty slow. Corsairs don't like flying slow. But when it stalls if there is any propensity to stall at the wing tips before wing center you will roll. Only recovery is to goose the throttle, stop the roll and then pull out in that order. Providing you have the altitude and reaction times for all of that.
