One response

  1. In 1830, it was considered to be lethal if a person would go faster than 50 miles an hour in a train. And the cows would go crazy and stop giving milk. In 1904, in London, taxidrivers found motor cars an unnecessary and dangerous development. Horse driven taxis would be around for another 100 years, that was obvious. Until very very recently, there were wealthy investors in real estate, specializing in shops, and many politicians who were convinced that internet would be a passing fancy. Where I live, this was documented in 1995 but the conviction remained. One has to recall Schopenhauer, first it is laughed at, then attacked, then considered obvious. With self-driving we are now at attack phase. With electric driven cars, in 2017 the world changed from the laughter phase into the attack phase. (Big Oil and Trumpists attack it, Tesla is infiltrated by Big Motor and attacked from the inside.) But soon, it will all be the obvious and normal thing to do. When did you take a horse taxi lately? How many cows did not give milk because of the trains? I think this discussion has a political or a pressure group background, doesn't it?
