Daewoo Lanos Broken Steering Rack Mount Autopsy (Bulkhead Crack — Astra F,etc)

I’m showing the broken steering rack mount on a ’98 Daewoo Lanos,which is the same thing happening to other GM cars like Opel (Astra,Kadett),etc.

Mine broke probably because of power steering tension instead of rust which is the case in most old Astras,this is a structure weak point in eitherway.

If your wheel sits at a weird angle and makes noises or has play it probably has this thing hiding back there.
