  1. So pleased you're doing this, I love these road trips! Please do more, excited for the videos. Hot hatch? Mini? Hell yeah! Best choice

  2. Love the mix into something a little more affordable (But also keep up the supercar stuff!). 😛

  3. Hey James. I just past my driving test a few weeks ago, my dad owns a Tesla model s P90D. It is quit scary to drive a car with over 700 hp with none experience at all and that the first car i ever drove was an electric car.

  4. Iv not been driving long first car 2015 ford fiesta 1.6 looking at upgrading to the seat leon 1.8 fr next year or the mini cooper s not sure yet..

  5. I can relate to the driving alone part hahaha

  6. I just passed my test and I'm driving an original mini, the only feeling I have is the feeling of worry, wondering the next time i need spend money on fixing it. just found out it needs a new floor.

  7. i get my first car in 2019 and i cant wait

  8. Well I failed my driving test with a major fault last month because I stalled at the top of a steep hill which was also a blind junction with cars parked on all sides

  9. Wouldnt go round corners on the r53 platform with 18inch wheels
Please tell me how the r53 cooper gp handles lol

  10. So good when you guys do videos like this. It’s often more interesting seeing cars that I may probably be driving in a few years after uni. Keep it up

  11. Change video speed to 0.5 if you don't want your brain to explode, that salesman can talk!

  12. Rpin Rpin:

Have they replaced those tail lights with magma?  Flaming hot magma? BTW, thank you for the music change from the last couple of vids.  My ears!!!

  13. My first car was the mk2 cavalier, i was the bees knees in it driving all over my home county of Devon. Sadly after some nice 4 doors like the Saab 95 and Mazda 6 I’ve gone down to a 1.6 Ford C-Max very stiff slow and drab I hate it changing back up next year to a 4 door again but don’t no what I fancy yet. Live the films keep them coming

  14. That guy at the dealership just felt like one long awkward sales pitch of a person.

  15. Great vid James. Why didn't you bring your S1?

  16. *meanwhile..I'm taking my driving test in a 2003 Honda Odyssey. Man did I want to shrivel down in my seat

  17. My first car was a 1978 ford fiesta 1.1 ghia! It was white with fakes wood inside and I loved it. I used to go driving for hours on my own, I maxed it on a dual carriageway and did hand brake turns in the snow. It was a bit of a heap but I loved it!

  18. Passing my test was a great feeling I past first time round

  19. My first car is a mazda miata from 1991. Love it, drive it everyday. Can’t get rid of it. Don’t wanna lose it. Love your work james!

  20. 'Couldn't have 18"s on the original car'…er my 1st gen R53 JCW has JCW 18" wheels…

  21. I wish I had the same feeling with my 1.0 69bhp first car corsa as you did with your mini

  22. asking the real questions here, how do they get their cars for that roadtrip, they go to the dealer and ask for one for a few days and thats it?

  23. Great video, thank you for sharing.

  24. so would you switch the S1 for the JCW ?

  25. Awesome car!!! Anyone else amazed by how fast the guy from Mini spoke? xD

  26. I passed my driving test three years ago. I love driving so much it's insane. Making my driving licence was the best experience in my life. I did it in a Seat Leon and I still dream of this car so much. Owning one would be the best thing ever for me.

  27. Currently in the process of negotiating a new JCW as an early crimbo present. This video just makes me want it more! Would you recommend James? If not why? And what would you have instead?

  28. Ghastly, enormous thing and those cartoon rear lights! These cars are so far away from being a Mini it is just ridiculous and so bloody ugly. The first "new" Mini's were designed by Rover before BMW took over and, as such and the fact they are not too enormous, the do, just about, qualify for the name Mini.

  29. Used to like the Cooper s, now they look like they have had Botox, all fat and bloated, I’m sure it’s a great car, but it’s not a mini.

  30. It's bigger, it's longer, it's wider — that' s what she said 😀

  31. Great stuff James! Passing my test feels like a long time although it wasn't THAT long as it was 2011. I passed first time with just 3 minors and my first car was a 2001 FIAT Punto ELX with a naturally aspirated 1.2 litre engine. It was good fun to drive (when it was working) and I too, had that cassette tape with the MP3 attachment.

After around 9 months of having the car, it kept going wrong so in the end I got a brand new Renault Clio. The Punto was meant to be part-exchanged, but a week before I was due to pick up the Clio, the power steering went on the Punto. As a result, the dealer offered me next to nothing.

So in the end I sold it privately and rather bizarrely, a chap came all the way from DEVON (I live in South London) to buy it, knowing that it had now power steering… I think I sold it for £350 in the end. I would love to know if it's still on the road, I still remember the numberplate, so when I see an old, rather battered Metallic Grey Punto, I always check the plate out of curiosity.

  32. We were all expecting the S1 , its so much more man car 🙂

  33. i have a 2004 mini cooper non s, had it for about 4 years and have had to replace power steering pump, alternator, front bushes, wheel bearings, complete exhaust, rear springs and now the clutch needs replacing! lol….looks like im going to have to scrap "vader"

  34. 6:20 that's not the DTC button. that's the auto on/off
