I know you are all going to hate this review, but the BMW X5M is overly complex and overly confused for a UTILITY Vehicle! Honestly, sometimes you just need to get in and drive, however I feel the X5M is trying too hard to be a performance machine and as a result compromises function. 81 Driving MODES! RIGHT…

Most insightful intro i've ever seen. My life makes sense now
I know I am going to get a lot of hate for this review, but why is it so complicated? 81 driving modes? REALLY?
I will agree, having to much buttons is an overload. A touch screen for the center console should simplify it.
When I took a seat in the Porsche Cayenne Turbo at the Toronto Auto Show, I counted 87 buttons throughout the driver zone. Eighty-seven buttons!! I still cannot understand how Porsche made the car so there was a need for so many….crazy!
There needs to be a wrap like in the thumbnail!
The infotainment system is not that difficult to understand… BMW have used the same fundamental layout for a decade now and there's a reason for that. Also, your reason for wanting a touch screen is stupid. Using a touch screen isn't any less fiddly than using a knob. Even the infotainment industry leaders, Audi, don't use touchscreens.
R A N G E R O V E R
Yes but if all the driving options weren't available there also would be those nagging over that…
I'd prefer a panamera over that
Half way through, I can't stand this video, there are 81 modes, who's gonna use them all? It's to cater to rich morons who buys expensive shits and enthusiast who has to compromise
That's why those mode exist
Oh and having more ways to change gear is good, paddle shift is only good if you have both hands on the wheel, unless you've McLaren's pivoting paddles. Having the option for a pull to upshift and push to downshift on the gear lever is nice to have, more sequential gearbox like than automated manual
Btw, fuck having touch screens, a controller with tactile feedback is way better than poking a screen, it's more accurate and precise, especially when driving
This is more of a critique on modern cars in general rather than a car review
The seat are amazing
The real question is did they fix the brakes on the McLaren?
The screen is a touchscreen….
Had a chance to test drive the X5M during BMW M Week at the dealer, absolutely incredible car, love it to bits, can't wait till depreciation hits them haaaaard and I can afford to buy it
wow, so much stupidity in 3min 22 seconds
Haha… what a rant! Great video
1:46 well maybe ur just average driver who doesn't care about car, those 81 different settings are to be tailored to every driver's driving preference ,,,maybe someone likes to have steering in comfort but throttle in sport…ill never change my X5M for ANY SUV
Use the M1 and M2 buttons, they are an extremely convenient feature which you completely overlooked.
I pretty much daily this car and it is nowhere as complicated as you've made it out to be. If you know how you like your car to drive, its no more than a 2 minute or so investment of your time to figure out what works for you and what doesn't.
As for iDrive, yeah it could be better.
You’re a IDIOT.
Guys hes just old fashioned.
