mine does not work. my led is blinking in red. i m following your steps
exactly, but the led is red whatever i ll do. can u tell me what is the
problem?
The additional learn step is what I needed. It much clearer than the manual.
I have a 2013 328i and I can't get it to work…do I need an extra step?
thanks.
Can you do this without the garage remote
This video is misleading and you have to listen very closely. It appears to have two sections, one for "fixed code" remotes and the other for "alternating code" remotes. In reality you need to follow both the "fixed-code" instructions and the "alternating code" instructions to get an alternating code remote to work. He says this very briefly "if you have an alternating code remote you'll need two more steps." I missed that the first few times and skipped the "fixed-code" step which caused the programming of my Genie remote to fail..
I was beginning to despair of ever getting this to work, but by placing the remote right up against the memory buttons I was able to get the remote recognized and the fast-blinking light. Then it was a simple case of pressing the 'Learn' button on the receiver and pressing the '1' button a couple of times and it was programmed. Yay!
