I'm amazed you weren't suffering with an exceptionally sore arse after all those miles, Chops. Well I'm assuming you weren't — since you never once mentioned it…
No way! I stayed in the same pension place 5 years ago and did the b500. Literally bought the tshirt too. Cracking roads. The road signs warning of motorcyclists going off the cliff was worrying lol
When I did my tour the thing that fucked me was my neck muscles always straining Vs the wind. Oooh it was baaad
Another great vid thank you
I would imagine rain mode will just take timing out of the map which is how the torque and power is reduced. Not sure though, and as they say, 'if in doubt, flat out!' 😉
I really don't see the point in doing bike tours when you're complaining constantly about your sore arse. Plus you're riding your super Duke at snails pace because of the wind blast to the point that you're envious of riders on inferior bikes (but with screens) riding past you. You may convince yourself that it's fun, but it ain't.
If you mention your ass one more time I'm unsubscribing
On the Tuono, remove the fuel cap and cut that stupid plastic bit off. So much easier to fill and you can get more in.
More like the an Ass test… you need to pick up an Airhawk if you're going to make a habit of this. Either that or come over to the States (or even worse… Canada) and we'll break you in with some 800 mile 14 hour days. I really love riding in the EU because everything is close!
Good to meet you today despite the weather
What gear are you in at 100knph?
Think you might find a different story for the roll ons if your mate takes it out of sport mode bangs it in Race mode and backs the ATC down from 5, and turns off wheelie control, he's in total pussy mode for the Tuono lol, also tell him to get the Puig screen it has totally eliminated the wind for me on my 2017!
Sport mode in the Aprillia LOL come on?
The SDR just has a ridiculously tall 6th gear, which is wonderful on trips IMO.
This video was bloody good! 😀 Loved every single second of it, can't wait for the next episode
Actually, the 6 gear on the Superduke is longer than an 70's American muscle car(Based on Revs and Ratio it should to 300kp/h when it hits the rev limiter, and is useless as the bike is unstable at over 260km/h IMO). I checked the gear ratios, the SD's 5th Gear is the same as the S1000R's 6th gear. If you compare the SD against the Aprillia and the BMW you actually have to be in 5th, when they are in 6th. You cannot cruise it in 6th gear under 150km/h(93mph), as the engine is to viby.
Great work on making a motorway slog entertaining!! I was on the B500 last week, looking forward to seeing how you got on!
Great vid Chops. Your videos helped me in deciding to pull the trigger on a 2018 Tuono….the fact it's $2000 CAD less than the SDK helped lol
Well editted vid, Mr Chops. Next time you come to Germany please make a littlle tour/vid with The LikeableRider. He is an english KTM rider who lives in Germany. Would be very nice. Sorry for my english 😀
No manufacturer's seat will ever do for trips. I don't care if they call it "comfort seat." That's like 20% better than their OEM "torture seat."
The difference in 6th gear on the expressway is you have a taller 6th with the KTM. Of course you won't pull his buzzy revs in that gear. You need to run 5th KTM vs. 6th Aprilia for roll-ons.
what's the size of your kriega's bags?
I own both of these bikes and a R1M, guess which bike is always in the garage?
What gas cap do you have on your SDR?
Great video mate
Hey Chops. Bit of a dull question but how did the tyres on both bikes fair after all those miles and motorway miles?
