Very useful. All the above is correct. Even for a reset with VCDS, the hood sensor must be active (if it is correct). If not, follow the procedure shown here. Thanks for this video.
Hmm, going to try this on A6 2,5 AKE, oil lamp on for no reason. Changed the sensor today, still on, does it also have that think in front?
And do i see right? You cut the wire?
Your a legend lad , thsnk you i taped my bonnet sensor closed as i knackered it need to open it up to reset the light
I have that problem whit "min oil "how can i reset ?!
Thank you so much for this! I have the exact same problem with my 2003 A4. Looked at the hood (bonnet) sensor wiring and it was corroded in half just like yours. Did the reset and all is right again.
Many many thanks. Mine turned out to be bonnet sensor had become unplugged. Plugged back in min oil warning light gone and bonnet warning now working. My problem was Oil warning light came on topped it up but oil warning stayed on.
Same problem. Good bless you.
I have an Audi A3 8p and found my issue with oil level sensor very frustrating, I have peiced together that it is somehow connected to the bonnet as I open and close the bonnet the light would go off and I would travel about 60 miles before the light comes on again.
I will look into the binnet catch and #ee if it is the plug to it that is eroded
The one i have making lot of noise and sensor light
Mine came on right before my oil change and is a faulty cord like yours, but if I rest it will it make my car think I just got an oil change because It’s been like a month since so I don’t want that to be off.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate this video! I'm having the low oil light issue on my Q5, despite having just done an oil change. I was thinking I may have a bad level sensor, but now I'll be sure to check the hood latch switch first.
Thanks mate, worked like a charm!
You need to fix your roof lining as it looks like a saggy tent
Massive help TY!!
Where i can i order a new sensor and how to install?
I have a mk1 TT and it does it intermittently. Level is fine but sometimes after a hard drive it comes on, not always
Thanks
I don't get the point, why the bonnet switch is connected to the resetting of the oil level monitor. The oil level should be showing correctly independent if the bonnet is open or closed
Hello may I ask how do i reset if I dont have the service Button up in there , is it anywhere else? I just have the 0.0 and set button up in there . I have Audi a4 b8 2008
Thank you so much
Fantastic video. Thank you!
Intersting — my a3 does the exact same thing but with mine if i leave the bonnet open for more than 30 seconds the oil light goes off and once I start driving it and I do more than 61 miles the light comes back on again and I have to repeat the process where I have to open up the bonnet for 30 seconds for the light to go off I wonder if me cutting those wires off will help me in my situation as well?
Hi, would this solve "oil sensor workshop" error on my Jetta 5 1.9 tdi? It only comes on when when i switch on the car for 5 seconds and then i'll never see it again till i swith off and on again. I'm afraid of oil errors please help.
my hood latch has been broken for a month and my oil level got a little low. topped it up. light still on. this is definitely it. It absolutely blows me away that you had the exact same set of conditions as me.
I have a 2008 and a 2009 A4 2.0T…….and I open the hoods on both cars quite often for various reasons other than to check the oil. I may be checking the brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid or spark plugs and more. What a strange thing to add on the Audi with this hood sensor. Silly!! LoL 😉
