In this video I work out what is preventing me from resetting the oil level sensor on my Audi A4. If you are struggling to get your light to go off, this might help you out.

  1. I have an Audi A3 8p and found my issue with oil level sensor very frustrating, I have peiced together that it is somehow connected to the bonnet as I open and close the bonnet the light would go off and I would travel about 60 miles before the light comes on again.

I will look into the binnet catch and #ee if it is the plug to it that is eroded

  2. Intersting — my a3 does the exact same thing but with mine if i leave the bonnet open for more than 30 seconds the oil light goes off and once I start driving it and I do more than 61 miles the light comes back on again and I have to repeat the process where I have to open up the bonnet for 30 seconds for the light to go off I wonder if me cutting those wires off will help me in my situation as well?

  3. I have a 2008 and a 2009 A4 2.0T…….and I open the hoods on both cars quite often for various reasons other than to check the oil. I may be checking the brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid or spark plugs and more. What a strange thing to add on the Audi with this hood sensor. Silly!! LoL 😉
