We were skeptical when we first saw this horsepower figure. A 368-horse 2.0-liter would make the Wrangler the second most powerful four-cylinder car on the market, just behind the 375-hp 2.0-liter turbo in the Mercedes-AMG CLA and GLA 45. Such a Jeep engine, if it existed, would out-muscle the 2.0-liter turbocharged engines in the 362-hp Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar, as well as the 350-hp Porsche 718 Boxster S and Cayman S. It’d also significantly out-muscle the current Wrangler’s 285-hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, an engine that’s expected to be offered in the next-gen model.
