   i fitted a water pump,head gaskit, valves,vairator,idler,and timing belt on a156 1.8 ,16 valve,not easy to work on,have it on video,must post it

   Very nice sound, much more beautiful than turbo engines. Naturally aspirated engines are the best and Alfa engines sound like dream…

    Had a 156 twinny for quite a few years and added a sports cat, at 3000rpm on the move it crackled and rasped like a Ferrari, incredible noise.
    stationary and revving does not sound good imo.
    have a 159 ti jtdm very lovely but I miss the twin spark howl at 7000rpm. ciao
