Here’s most of the first lap of the famous Suzuka Circuit in a B-class Hyundai Veloster Turbo in Forza Motorsport 4. I stopped the race after hitting the artificial turf on the sharp chicane at the end. I plan to study the replay intensely on YouTube before trying the race again tomorrow after work.
I’m going to try to pass all laps of both heats of this race «clean», which means no hitting other cars or cutting corners. It also means that you’re not allowed to draft behind another car or allow another car to draft behind you at above 100 mph. I was able to do that with the C-class Veloster (almost stock) but not with the faster car classes because they hit 100 mph so quickly. In this race I think the tight corners of Suzuka will enable me to achieve that goal with enough practice.
For this car, which starts out in the C-class, the B-class auto-tune is a medium level of tuning with mostly «street» grade parts (better than stock but not as good as racing grade). Basically wider tires, street air filter, etc., nothing that would make the car obnoxious to drive on the road.
The Forza 4 B-class tuned Veloster Turbo has 310 HP, 267 lb-ft. torque, 2863 lbs.
The stock 2013 Veloster Turbo has 201 HP [6000 rpm], 195 lb-ft. torque [1750-4500 rpm]
