   I am having the exact same problem the past few days on a year 2000 reg which ive had for years. Did you find a solution to this problem?

   Problem stems from badly designed indicator stalk which reduces the wire count by 1 by using a resistor to show which way it is indicating. IMPORTANT: This relies on the indicator/flasher control unit sensing the voltage correctly. 🙁 Was solved by electronic repair company "fixing" indicator/flasher control unit (suspect this involved re-soldering dry joints on the circuit board). Let me know how you get on.

   I have got the same problem on a 2003 model … control stalk has now been replaced (wipers were also freezing at times) and now indicators still indicating right when left is selected, although very intermittently — OK most of the time. Do you know where the indicator / flasher control unit is located ?

   try to tighten the screws on the battery terminal. I had the same problem and it seems it's working. PS: Sorry for bad English.

   I have the same issue, replaced the indicator switch and still not working right. Do you know where is the indicator/flasher control unit that you have had it fixed? I would really appreciate your answer… 🙂

   Hi have the same issue too.. my mechanic suggested me to change the indicator stalk but it seems unuseful according to your experience. As KarCOG i don't know where the control unit is located. Anyone could help us? thank you 🙂

   just for reference, speedometer  cluster is faulty and this is not repairable, replace it and problem gone.
