The Porsche 718 Boxster is a sports car produced by the German car manufacturer Porsche since 2016. The Boxster (Type 981) indeed changes its name on the occasion of its restyling to incorporate the number 718, in tribute to the 1957 concept presented at Le Mans and receives a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine.
The Porsche 718 Boxster was officially presented at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show. It is the replacement for the Boxster type 981.
Its biggest novelty is the integration of a turbocharged flat-4 developing 300 to 350 hp depending on the version («Normal» or S) to best meet the new ecological standards.
In December 2018, Porsche will present the «718 Boxster T». Then in June 2019, the 718 Boxster gets a naturally aspirated 4-liter flat-6 in its Boxster Spyder version.
