   I'm surprised since having owned numerous BMWs and Mercedes all my bimmers were much quicker than the Mercs (because of there sluggish automatics). My 95 BMW 525i (VANOS engine) sedan had a 5 speed manual with a performance chip, and it was even quicker than my 93 400e that had 70 more HP.
